Why do women always make life harder for each other?
Isabella poured herself a glass of warm water, ready to take her medicine. Her head was still pounding. The doctor had said the first dose would help with the pain. She barely looked up when Susan rushed in, sounding anxious. Without a word, Isabella tossed back all the pills in one go and washed them down with half the glass.
Susan hurried over, her voice tense. “Isabella, you need to go upstairs, now. Sophia’s coming in. I’ll tell her you’re not home. If she thinks you’re out, she’ll get bored and leave.”
Isabella just looked at her, calm and steady. “Susan, this is my home with Ethan. Why should I be afraid of anyone in my own house?”
She truly didn’t care about Sophia. She’d gotten used to Sophia’s loud, clueless drama. That was the old Isabella. Now, she was different.
Susan opened her mouth to say more, but Sophia barged in before she could. Sophia spotted Isabella on the sofa and marched over, calling out, “Isabella, go get me some water. It’s so hot, I’m dying.”
Isabella didn’t move. Her attention shifted to the woman walking in behind Sophia, someone she’d never seen before—not in this life or the last. The woman looked at Isabella and gave a polite, gentle smile. Everything about her—her elegant clothes, her graceful posture—screamed old money. She had a limited-edition Hermès bag dangling from her arm, definitely worth more than the one Isabella owned. In her other hand, she carried several gift bags. Clearly, she was here to visit.
Ethan’s god-sister? Isabella knew Jennifer had a goddaughter she doted on like her own, but she’d never met her before. This was the first time.
A guest was a guest. Whatever Mia’s reason for coming, Isabella would treat her politely.
“Ms. Clark, it’s nice to meet you.” Isabella stood up, smiled, and shook Mia’s hand with confidence and grace. She took the gifts from Mia and added, “You really didn’t have to bring anything, Ms. Clark, but thank you. Please, have a seat. Susan, could you bring us some tea?”

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
