After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 367

He always said it himself. Once you cheat, that’s it, you’re done. No second chances.

The truth was, he’d been in love with Natalie all along. Maybe he never crossed any obvious lines, but emotionally, he was already cheating. He fell for Natalie first, married Isabella later, and he was upfront about it. He only married Isabella because of Natalie.

Isabella headed back into her shop. Laura was still inside, ready to say something, but when she saw Ethan walk in after Isabella, she swallowed whatever she was about to say.

“Laura, my mom’s coming over soon,” Isabella said. “She’ll go shopping with us. She’s a pro when it comes to bargaining. We’ll save a ton.”

Ethan cut in. “Why can’t I come with you instead? I’ll pay for everything. Just pick what you like, no matter how expensive. Your husband can handle it.”

Isabella gave him a look. “If you come, everyone will just see us as a goldmine. They’ll jack up the prices just because you’re there.”

And honestly, he was a goldmine. Jordan and Natalie had gotten so much out of him through the Adams Group, she’d lost count. He really was the ultimate pushover.

Did he really think Natalie liked him? All she cared about was his money, his status, and the way he spoiled her. If she actually loved him, she never would have married Jordan.

Whenever Natalie was involved, this man’s common sense just vanished. Isabella was used to it by now.

Ethan just stared at her, speechless.

“Plus,” Isabella went on, “do you even know how to pick out furniture? Can you tell good from bad? You just pay whatever the seller asks and believe anything they tell you about quality.”

“This isn’t like the custom furniture in your family’s house. You should just head back to work, make some more money, and send some my way. Maybe then I won’t have to hustle so hard.”

She sighed dramatically. “My two hundred million…”

Ethan’s face turned stormy. He gritted his teeth and snapped, “Isabella, what do you mean, two hundred million? Why are you blaming me for missing out on it? I didn’t do anything!”

The driver hesitated, then explained, “Sir, you told me before, whenever you’re with Mrs. Adams, I should leave early and not wait around.”

“I’ll be right there to pick you up.”

He’d thought he was getting off work early. Judging by Ethan’s tone, he must have argued with Isabella again.

“Just hurry up,” Ethan muttered, then hung up.

He glanced back at Isabella’s shop. The sign was already up. One side was the bookstore, the other a café.

She’d pissed him off, and she didn’t even bother coming out to apologize or try to make up. That just made him even madder.

And seriously, what was up with that two hundred million?
