After a few minutes of silence, he finally spoke again. His voice was quiet and heavy, and he couldn’t meet Isabella’s eyes.
“The three of us always did everything together. I got used to seeing Natalie every day. Talking to her, just being around her… Whenever I was upset, seeing her gentle smile made everything feel okay.”
“When Jordan told me I couldn’t see Natalie anymore, I felt terrible. I didn’t argue with him, though. Instead, I came up with a plan. I decided to marry Isabella.”
“Isabella joined the Lane family when she was five, so I’ve known her for twenty years. I knew she was gentle, easy to get along with, easy to control. So I… Well, you all know what happened next.”
“I married Isabella because I wanted to use her. If she went back to the Lane Estate, I could go with her or pick her up. That gave me the perfect excuse to see Natalie. Jordan couldn’t say anything, since Cynthia is his stepmother and she lives there.”
“On our wedding night, I told Isabella the truth. She called me a liar and cried so hard. I promised her the title of Mrs. Adams. I told her I’d protect her, make sure she had everything she needed.”
“But I also told her I wouldn’t love her. We’d never be a real couple. From the day we got married, we slept in separate rooms.”
“It wasn’t because I had any issues, physically or mentally. It’s just… I didn’t love her, and I didn’t want to touch her. When Mom started pushing us to have a baby, Isabella just made up an excuse about me, to get Mom off her back.”
At first, everyone listened calmly, but as Ethan went on, their faces tightened with discomfort.
Sophia, though, looked almost satisfied. She always knew that no matter how beautiful Isabella was, Ethan would never really choose her. He was just using her.
“If you had stayed single, loyal to your first love forever, maybe we could have called you devoted. But you ruined an innocent girl’s life instead. You really are the one at fault.”
Angela’s sympathy was with Isabella, and she was clearly angry with her nephew.
Ethan said nothing, letting his aunts say whatever they needed to.
Isabella stayed quiet through all of it. After everyone had finished blaming Ethan, she finally spoke. “Ethan, you’ve admitted that you lied to me and ruined my life. Can you give me a divorce? Please, just let me go.”
For once, Sophia took Isabella’s side. “Ethan, if you don’t love her, you should just let her go.”

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
