After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 529

Sophia always thought Ethan was a prize. Everyone seemed to want him.

“Mom, all my friends are into Ethan. I could totally introduce them to him. Honestly, any one of them comes from a better background than Isabella.”

Jennifer stopped in her tracks and looked at Sophia. “Sophia, don’t get involved with Ethan’s life. I’m warning you. If you annoy him, he’ll freeze your bank account and take your car keys. Then you’ll be stuck with nothing.”

“I just want to help Ethan move on,” Sophia whispered.

“Ethan can take care of himself. You don’t need to worry. Focus on your etiquette classes. Next month, Paulina’s having a birthday party and I’m bringing you.”

“You’re not a little girl anymore. Stop acting so spoiled. You need to show some class. In a few years, you’ll be getting married. If you don’t change your attitude, who’s going to want you?”

The Adams family was old money. Sophia was expected to marry into another powerful family. But those families had very high standards for daughters-in-law. Sophia had the right background and she wasn’t bad looking, but she could be stubborn and a little clueless. Her family had always spoiled her. The other wealthy ladies were friendly enough to her face, but none of them would ever pick her to marry their sons.

“Mom, I like Dylan Main. If I marry anyone, it’s going to be him!” Sophia still couldn’t get over Dylan, the notorious flirt.

Jennifer’s face turned cold. She poked Sophia’s forehead and hissed, “You’re still thinking about him? He’s a player. He changes girlfriends like he changes outfits. He doesn’t know the first thing about real love.”

“Barbara is reasonable, and Samantha watched you grow up. She’s always been good to you. If you marry Harold, you won’t have to worry about family drama.”

Samantha had said more than once that she wouldn’t interfere in her kids’ marriages. She’d let them choose who they loved. As long as Sophia could win Harold’s heart, nobody in the Carter family would stand in the way.

Sophia wrinkled her nose. “I don’t like Harold. I only like Dylan Main. Mom, just let me try, please? If I can get Dylan Main to marry me, will you finally say yes?”

“The Charles family is just as good as the Carters. They might even be a little richer.”
