The car Isabella was driving had been a gift from him. Now here she was, using it to drop Harold off at work.
Harold knew exactly how Ethan felt about Isabella, that he wanted her back. Still, Harold kept coming up with new ways to get close to her, always scheming, never giving up.
Isabella had only gotten home in the middle of the night. First, she was on set filming. After that, she went out with Linda for some business drinks. Her little studio had just been turned into a full-on media company.
She had invested in one of Linda’s projects and was starting to meet all kinds of business contacts through her. Lately, she’d even started thinking about opening another company and was already coming up with a plan.
She was so busy these days that sometimes she almost forgot about Ethan entirely.
She slept in until nearly eight. When she finally checked the time, she shot out of bed in a panic. After a quick wash, she rushed downstairs. There was no time for breakfast. She figured she’d just order something to the office like usual.
Since Cynthia got her divorce papers, Isabella had sent her on a trip to relax. Cynthia went with Isabella’s uncle and aunt, so the three of them were off enjoying themselves, and the house was just as quiet and empty as ever.
It felt kind of lonely in the mornings, especially when she woke up late and didn’t even have a chance to eat.
She’d been eating a lot more takeout lately.
Laura was always telling her to stop, to just come to the shop at mealtimes instead. Laura would cook for her in the little kitchen at the bookstore.
Laura didn’t have spare money to invest in Linda’s projects, so she focused on her two shops, reading scripts, sometimes tagging along to film sets. Mostly, she just liked checking out the good-looking actors and actresses.
His gaze moved over her, trying to memorize every detail of her face.
“Isabella, these flowers and a few sets of skincare products are for you,” he said, holding out the bouquet, the skincare, and a food container. He looked genuinely worried. “You’re always running around, working nonstop. Even I’m not as busy as you. You’ve lost weight. I told you I’d keep Susan and the others here for you. I’d pay their salaries, you wouldn’t have to worry about a thing. That way, I’d know someone was making sure you ate properly. But you keep insisting on keeping your distance.”
“Ethan.” Isabella didn’t take the flowers or the skincare. “Take them back. I’m not accepting any gifts from you. And I don’t need breakfast either. I’ll just order something when I get to the office.”
“When my mom gets back from her trip, she’s moving in with me. She’ll cook for me.”
Cynthia was a great cook. She used to run a seafood restaurant, so she knew what she was doing. After she married into the Lane family, she had to get even better, since Jordan was so picky about food.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
