“The partnership between The Carter Group and The Adams Group is winding down. Since things are good between you, me, and Barbara, it wouldn’t be a shock if The White Group and The Carter Group stopped being rivals and even became allies someday. In business, there are no forever enemies or forever friends. It’s all about what benefits everyone.”
There was a time when The White Group and The Carter Group didn’t get along, but it never turned into an all-out war. Their businesses didn’t really overlap. With The Adams Group, though, it was different. The White Group and The Adams Group were always competing in the same industries. They were more like sworn enemies, each hoping the other would go bankrupt.
Isabella hanging out with Linda always rubbed The Adams family the wrong way. But after she and Ethan decided to divorce, who Isabella spent time with was her own choice. Linda, for her part, was always the type to do whatever she wanted and befriend whoever she liked.
At Linda’s suggestion, Isabella finally picked out a birthday gift for Harold. It wasn’t expensive, just something thoughtful—exactly what you’d give to a regular friend. What Isabella didn’t know was that after she bought the gift, Linda sent Harold a secret message, letting him know it was her idea for Isabella to get him something.
When Harold got his surprise on his birthday, he’d be grateful. All Linda wanted in return was for him to treat Isabella right. She didn’t want to see him make the same mistakes Ethan did. Ethan never knew how to cherish Isabella.
Harold really appreciated Linda’s help. He knew she’d once tried to set Isabella up with Douglas, but Douglas confessed he already liked someone else. After that, Linda finally gave up. Now she was actually helping Harold by saying good things about him to Isabella.
If Harold could win Isabella’s heart, he’d make sure to love her, cherish her, and protect her for the rest of his life. Even if he didn’t succeed, as long as Isabella was happy—even if it wasn’t with him—he’d still wish her all the best. Real love was wanting someone to be happy, not having to keep them for yourself.
They spent a little over a week in Kaston before heading back to Cabinda. By then, Natalie and Sophia had finished their time in detention and gone home.
The day Isabella returned to Cabinda just happened to be the end of the divorce cooling-off period for her and Ethan. It was the day they could finally get their divorce papers. She was so eager to get it done that she didn’t even go home first. She called Ethan as soon as she arrived.
Isabella paused for a second, then said, “I know you’re busy, but I’m sure you can find a little time. Let’s go get the divorce certificate.”
Ethan sighed. “You just got back from your business trip. You haven’t even set foot inside your house yet, and you’re already calling me, rushing to get the divorce. Isabella, can’t you at least have a glass of water, grab a bite, and rest for a bit first? We can do this tomorrow.”
“I’m not tired. The drive from Kaston was only a couple of hours. It’s barely past ten. We can go to the civil affairs office, get everything done, and be back just in time for lunch.”
Ethan didn’t say anything. She was just so eager to draw the line between them. It didn’t matter how hard he tried. There was no way to win her back. The past few days, she’d even gone to Kaston with Linda just to avoid seeing him.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
