“Isabella, Linda’s got her hands full. Let’s not trouble her.”
Ethan moved closer. “If you don’t want me to drive you home, it’s fine. I respect your choice.”
He added, “How about my driver takes you? No need to bother Linda.”
“If you ask her for a favor, you’ll end up owing her one. You hate that, remember?”
Harold jumped in, not wanting to be left out. “Isabella, I can have Barbara drive you.”
“That’s not necessary.”
Isabella kept her voice cool. “Harold, you’re worried about me going home alone just because I’m a woman. But Barbara’s a woman too, and honestly, she’s not half as tough as I am if things go sideways.”
“She’s your sister. You’re concerned about me, someone who’s basically a stranger, but you’re not worried about Barbara’s safety?”
“Linda had a few drinks tonight. She can’t drive. She’s sending her family’s driver to pick me up.”
“Harold, just go home. You’ve had a long day. Get some rest.”
But Harold wasn’t budging.
Ethan was still standing there too.
If Harold left now, it would just mean giving Ethan the chance to step in.
“I’ll just wait here with you until your driver comes. We’re headed the same way anyway.”
Ethan didn’t move either.
The bodyguards from both families stood around, glancing at each other, not saying a word.
So there they all were, a dozen men hanging around with Isabella until the White family’s driver finally showed up. Only then did everyone start to leave.
Harold still insisted on following Linda’s car all the way to the huge villa where Isabella was staying now.
He waited until Isabella went inside before turning the car around to head home.
Ethan didn’t follow as closely. He knew if he stayed on her tail, Harold would never leave.
He told his driver to take it slow, arriving at Isabella’s place a full ten minutes later.
Ethan listened to Susan’s messages, standing at the villa gate for a long time before finally turning and walking home.
Susan was right.
When the lights went on in the big villa next door, Isabella knew her ex-husband was back.
She left the balcony and went back inside.
Ethan’s messages sat on her phone, read but unanswered.
The night was quiet.
Isabella slept well. Not everyone did.
Natalie, for one.
She’d gone to bed a little after ten, drifted off, then woke up from a bad dream.
She checked her phone. Only an hour had passed.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
