“Natalie, you and Jordan always stick together.” Ethan’s voice was soft, almost gentle.
Natalie fell silent right away. She wanted to say something, to stand up for herself, but every time she opened her mouth, nothing came out. The truth was, she and Jordan really did think as one.
“The three of us have always been close since we were kids,” Ethan went on. “But whenever it came down to a choice, you always picked Jordan, didn’t you?”
“Why are you blaming Jordan now? I’m not stupid. I see what’s going on. When I work with The Lane Group, or your family, it’s not just because of you two. It’s because those deals make sense for The Adams Group. They bring in real profit.”
“At the end of the day, I’m a businessman. I run The Adams Group, but it’s not just mine. I can’t put my own feelings ahead of what’s best for the company.”
As Ethan spoke, Natalie’s face lost all its color.
She’d always believed he did it for her. She thought he partnered with The Lane Group to make her life easier in the Lane family. Turns out, she’d only been fooling herself.
It wasn’t for her. It was just good business.
Jordan had warned her, too. Months ago, when The Adams Group had a project Ethan really wanted, he partnered up with Melissa instead. Jordan tried the usual tricks, using her as an excuse, but Ethan didn’t budge. He didn’t give The Lane Group the deal.
He didn’t even mention The Gates Group. He just went with The Mason Group, who had more power anyway.
“Natalie, I don’t know what happened to you tonight, what made you come here like this. But it’s late. Go home. Jordan’s drunk and he needs you right now.”
“Don’t do something like this again. Just live your life with Jordan. He truly loves you. What you two have is more than just love. There’s friendship, and family, too. That’s all I have to say.”
He turned and walked back to the villa.
This time, he didn’t glance back.
Natalie didn’t try to stop him, either.
He was stubborn. She knew he’d never betray his friendship with Jordan, no matter what.
She had no idea Isabella was standing on her balcony the whole time, phone in hand, recording every second of her confrontation with Ethan.
Earlier, Isabella had been fast asleep when she thought she heard someone crying. At first, she thought it was just a dream, but when she listened closely, she realized the sound was real. The crying was soft, but her sharp hearing picked it up anyway.
Curious, she got out of bed to see what was happening.
She looked outside and saw the commotion at the gate of Ethan’s new house next door. There was a car parked there with its headlights on, and the porch light at the villa was still on, which made it easy to spot the man standing with his back to her—it was Ethan.
She couldn’t see his face clearly, but after two lifetimes as his wife, she’d know that silhouette anywhere. His posture, the way he stood—it was definitely Ethan.
She recognized Natalie, too, just as easily. Some things you just know.
Without hesitating, Isabella grabbed her phone, zoomed in as far as she could, and started recording. Through her camera lens, she watched it all unfold, catching every detail of the scene right next door.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
