Jordan looked miserable.
Natalie reached out and brushed his cheek, her voice soft. “Jordan, just try to hold it together. Don’t start anything with your dad, okay?”
He let out a bitter laugh. “I can’t help it. Has my dad already forgotten about my mom? She was his real wife.”
Natalie sighed and shook her head. “But your mom’s gone. If she were still here, Deborah wouldn't even exist in this family. Jordan, don’t torture yourself with this. Come on, let’s just go inside and have dinner.”
“We have to face this eventually. If we keep avoiding it, we’re just handing everything over to Deborah.”
With Natalie’s gentle words, Jordan managed to hold back his anger. Together, they headed home for dinner.
To their surprise, Isabella and Ethan were already there, having shown up before them.
Isabella hadn’t really wanted to come. But then Deborah called her and said Jordan and Natalie would be there, and mentioned that today was her and Jackson’s marriage registration day.
Isabella had grown up in the Lane family home. Even though her mom and Jackson were divorced, he was remarrying and had invited her for dinner, so she figured she ought to show up for appearances.
Honestly though, Isabella mostly wanted to see Jordan and Natalie suffer a little in front of Deborah. She was curious to see them get all riled up and helpless.
As for Ethan, he only came because Isabella did.
“Jordan, Natalie, finally! We’ve all been waiting for you.”
Deborah heard the car pull up and came out, grinning like she owned the place.
Her smugness made Jordan and Natalie’s skin crawl.
Jordan kept his face blank and walked right past her.
Natalie glanced over at the parked cars and asked, “Those must be Isabella and Ethan’s cars, right? Are they here already?”
Deborah smiled sweetly. “Isabella grew up here, she’s basically family. Since Jackson and I got married today, I thought I’d invite her to dinner, and let Kevin meet her too.”
“Wow, Jordan, I came all the way out here to welcome you, and you just push right past me? That really hurt. I know you don’t like me, but today’s a big day for your dad and me. You could at least show a little respect.”
“You just come in here and bump into me. What, you’re still upset about your dad and me getting married? Jackson! Jackson!”
Deborah started calling out as she walked in, her voice trembling. She managed to get inside before Jordan and Natalie, even though they’d left her behind.
Jordan just stared, dumbfounded.
When had he ever touched her?
Natalie muttered under her breath, “What a piece of work.”
She’s the one stirring up trouble and now she’s playing the victim.
Jackson had been sitting in the living room, sipping tea and chatting with Ethan and Isabella. When he heard Deborah’s cries, he frowned and watched as she walked in, looking like the picture of misery, tears streaking her face.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
