“Jordan.”
Natalie hurried after him and caught his arm.
Jackson looked like he wanted to call out to Jordan too, but when he saw Natalie step in, he kept quiet, his face still tight with disapproval.
“Dad,” Kevin spoke up, looking at his father. “Don’t be upset with Jordan. Let’s just eat together, okay? Even if you make him apologize, it won’t matter if he doesn’t mean it. If he doesn’t want to say sorry, that’s fine. Mom is generous, she’s the grown-up here. She won’t hold it against him.”
The fact that Kevin, only ten years old, could say all that made Isabella and Ethan share a look. Suddenly, it made sense where Jordan’s anxiety came from. Kevin was just like his mom.
Deborah jumped in, “Kevin’s right, Jackson. Don’t be mad, and don’t blame Jordan. This was my fault. I shouldn’t have been so petty, making a fuss over nothing. If he bumped into me, it was probably just an accident.”
“I’m the adult here, I can let it go. Please, don’t stay angry.”
She got up and walked over, reaching for Jordan’s arm. Jordan shot her a look and said sharply, “Don’t touch me.”
Deborah tried to smile. “Jordan, it was my fault. I shouldn’t have made such a big deal or complained to your dad. I’m sorry. Please don’t take it out on him.”
“Your father loves you, you know. You and Kevin are brothers, his own sons. He cares about you both the same.”
“I’m not your real mom, but as your stepmom, I’ll treat you like my own. Don’t worry. Whatever Kevin has, you’ll have too. And if there’s anything Kevin doesn’t get, I’ll make sure you have it. Let’s eat, okay? Don’t be upset anymore.”
Deborah turned to the housekeeper. “Go get Mandy from the backyard. Tell her dinner’s ready.”
Mandy had been wandering around the Lane family’s garden, amazed at how much bigger and prettier The Lane Estate was compared to Deborah’s old place.
No wonder Deborah had wanted to move in so badly. With a house this beautiful and all these amazing views, who wouldn’t want to live here?
The housekeeper glanced at Natalie, waiting for a reaction. When Natalie said nothing, she went to the backyard to find Mandy.
Jordan looked at his best friend, then at Natalie. He felt like even if he tried a hundred times, he couldn’t explain himself.
Even Ethan seemed to think he was in the wrong.
He hadn’t even touched Deborah. He’d just walked past her with Natalie.
Natalie squeezed his arm and said softly, “Jordan, don’t fight with Dad. Let’s just eat first, okay?”
They’d promised each other at work that they wouldn’t argue with Jackson anymore.
The more they fought, the more it played into Deborah’s hands.
This was exactly what Deborah wanted, for Jordan and his dad to keep clashing, over and over again.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
