Cynthia had been married to Jackson for twenty years, and all that time she never really fit in with the other rich wives. There was always this invisible wall she couldn't cross. If even Cynthia couldn’t get accepted, there was no way Latonia would bother with Deborah, the mistress who’d managed to take Cynthia’s place.
Deborah, though, didn’t seem to care about Latonia’s cold shoulder. She just kept smiling and clung to Jackson’s arm like she belonged there. They hadn’t had a wedding, but the marriage certificate was real. She was Jackson’s wife now, and she could finally stand beside him in public, no more sneaking around.
Jordan and Natalie quietly kept their distance from their father. Latonia leaned over and whispered, “Natalie, why would Jackson bring that woman here?”
Natalie let out a soft sigh. “He married her. They’re officially husband and wife now.”
Latonia shot a look at Deborah. “She’s not even as good as Cynthia.”
“Cynthia was completely heartbroken by Jackson. After the divorce, she just left to travel and still hasn’t come back.”
Latonia sighed, this time with real understanding. For the first time, she actually felt sorry for Cynthia.
Cynthia had done everything she could to marry into the Lane family. She’d even gotten her tubes tied, all so she and her daughter would have some security. Twenty years of hard work, never complaining, treating Jordan even better than her own daughter. Still, Jordan kept his distance from her.
If Jackson had been good to Cynthia, maybe it would have all been worth it. They always looked so loving together, but who would have guessed Jackson had been cheating all along? The kid he had with his mistress was already ten. No wonder Cynthia’s heart turned cold.
Maybe the divorce was for the best.
Isabella was grown up now. Even though her parents split, Isabella was doing well in business, so Cynthia still had someone she could count on.
Just then, two lines of bodyguards in black suits marched in, pushing people aside to clear a path. The room fell into a hush as a stranger strode in, moving with confidence.
He had a cigar in his right hand and walked right up to Lucas and Jackson. Without missing a beat, he lifted the cigar to his lips, took a few slow puffs, and let the smoke drift out. Then he bit the cigar and freed his hand to shake Lucas’s.
People around the room started whispering, trying to figure out who York was.
Only Natalie felt a chill run down her spine when she saw him. All the color drained from her face.
Why was that ominous man here?
What was he planning? Was he really going to go after Isabella himself?
Natalie couldn’t stop wondering why York hated Isabella and Ethan so much. She was certain Ethan and Isabella didn’t even know him. She’d grown up with Ethan and knew exactly who was in his circle.
They’d never met York, but somehow he hated them both enough to want them dead. Not just dead, but to suffer.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
