Natalie couldn’t stop shaking. York noticed, got up without a word, and poured her a glass of warm water. He handed it to her, his eyes cool. “Here, drink some water. It might help calm you down. Take the edge off that hate and fear.”
Natalie stared at the glass, her fingers tightening around it. She couldn’t bring herself to take a sip. The memory of that day flashed in her mind, vivid as ever. She’d never forget it. She’d drunk the water his people handed her, and after that, everything spun out of control. She’d lost her grip, lost her mind, and ended up with those men. All because of him.
York was no hero. He was ruthless, cold, and completely unfeeling. He only showed mercy if someone could still be useful to him.
Natalie didn’t dare put the glass down, but she also couldn’t drink it. The heat seeped through, slowly chasing away some of her panic. After a long silence, she finally asked, “What do you want from me?”
He leaned in, a hint of a smile on his lips. “Sleep with Ethan. If you do, he won’t get back together with Isabella. Isn’t that what you want? You can’t stand the thought of losing Ethan’s love. Deep down, he’s the one you really care about, right?”
York’s gaze lingered on her, amused and sharp. “When you got together with Jordan, you were trying to get a rise out of Ethan. But it completely backfired. Instead of fighting for you, Ethan pulled away. He hid his feelings, never told you how much he cared, but he couldn’t stop treating you well.”
He paused, letting his words sink in. “Later, you thought Ethan’s ideas didn’t match yours. You figured you and Jordan were more alike, so you married him. But you still couldn’t let go of Ethan’s affection. And Jordan noticed. He cares more about power than romance. He saw Ethan giving The Lane Group all those business opportunities just to keep you happy.”
York’s voice was low and steady. “Jordan’s not blind. He knew about Ethan’s feelings, but he let it slide because it helped him. Still, a man’s pride only goes so far. He finally said something to Ethan, and because of you, Ethan ended up marrying Isabella.”
People always want what they can’t have, and Malvina knew how to work that. It only made Jordan want her more.
“Just like his father,” Natalie muttered. “All the men in that family are trash.”
She’d been with other men, sure, but that was only because York had drugged and trapped her. It wasn’t what she wanted. That night, afraid she might get pregnant, she’d tried to sleep with her husband, but Jordan was too drunk. They didn’t finish. She’d even gone to Ethan, desperate, but he turned her down.
In the end, she had to wait for Jordan to sober up the next morning. At least then, if she ended up pregnant, the timing would make sense. She could say the baby was his.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
