“Harold, have some fruit,” Isabella said, steering the conversation away from the awkwardness.
She just couldn’t bring herself to accept Harold’s feelings right now. Ethan was still hanging around, way too persistent, and it would feel like she was using Harold as a shield. That wasn’t fair to anyone. Besides, her divorce was still fresh. The idea of jumping into another relationship felt impossible. And who knew if the Carter family would even approve of her?
“You didn’t eat much at the banquet. Are you hungry? I could make you some noodles if you want,” she offered.
She, on the other hand, had eaten plenty. Isabella never went hungry if she could help it. Her first priority was always making sure she was fed. The food at the Cabinda Hotel was right up her alley, and if Natalie hadn’t interrupted, she definitely would have kept eating.
“I’m good, thanks. I’m not hungry,” Harold said. He didn’t want to trouble her. “Are you still feeling sick? Do you want to see a doctor?”
“No, I’m fine. I felt a lot better as soon as we left the hotel. Maybe I’m just not used to the vibe at those banquets,” she replied.
Everyone at those events wore a mask, only talking about business and what they could gain. It was exhausting.
“You’ll get used to it,” Harold said with a gentle smile.
Isabella smiled back, though she knew something had felt off tonight. Usually, social events didn’t faze her, but tonight the anxiety came out of nowhere. She had this weird feeling, like something bad was about to happen, or someone was plotting against her. Maybe it was just her intuition, but it was enough to make her want to leave early.
“Harold, can you find out anything about York? I can’t shake the feeling that there’s more to him than meets the eye.”
Even after the divorce, Ethan still stuck to her like glue. No one else dared come close except for Harold, and even he had to deal with Ethan’s intimidation.
“Did you see where Natalie went? She just disappeared. Usually, she’s always with Jordan at these things. If she’s not with him, she’s off talking to Ethan or her best friends.”
“When we left, I didn’t see her with anyone,” Harold said. Isabella always kept tabs on people she considered rivals.
“She was talking to Ethan, then followed him when he came over to you. After that, when we walked away, I didn’t notice where she went.”
Harold’s voice turned cool as he mentioned Natalie. He had never liked her.

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
