She said to Jackson, “Dad, Jordan’s been crazy busy lately. He looks exhausted. I’m bringing him some soup to help him out.”
“I’ll eat with him, so you and Deborah just go ahead,” Jackson replied.
“Why not eat first and take it to him after? It’s not like he doesn’t have food. He can eat in the cafeteria at work or grab something at a restaurant.”
“I’m not hungry. I want to eat with Jordan.”
“Alright then. Don’t drive yourself. Let the driver take you.”
“I know, Dad. I’m heading out.”
Natalie picked up the two insulated lunchboxes and left. As soon as she was gone, Deborah shook her head. “Her cousin comes all the way over and she doesn’t even invite him to dinner. Honestly, does she have any manners?”
“She’s just going to the office to eat with Jordan so she doesn’t have to see us. From the minute we walked in, Jordan and Natalie have been giving us nothing but attitude.”
Deborah hooked her arm around Jackson’s. “Jackson, thank goodness you’re here to protect us. Otherwise, Jordan and Natalie would make our lives miserable.”
“Cynthia is older than them, and they still bullied her all the time. You really think she wanted to divorce you just because I came into the picture? The truth is, Jordan and Natalie treated her so badly she couldn’t take it anymore.”
Jackson didn’t say a word.
He knew how Jordan and Natalie treated Cynthia. But Jordan was his son, so of course he always took his side. If Cynthia ever mentioned it, he’d just tell her not to take things personally with the kids.
He turned to Deborah. “Don’t worry, Deborah. As long as I’m here, I won’t let anyone bully you or Kevin.”
“You’re still new to all this, so just try to keep things calm. Don’t pick fights with Jordan and Natalie. After the wedding, if things still don’t work out, I’ll ask them to move out.”
“Jordan’s got more than enough properties, and so does Natalie. They’ve got plenty of places to go.”
Deborah leaned her head on his shoulder. “Jackson, I knew I could trust you. With you here, Kevin and I don’t have to worry about anyone pushing us around.”
“You have to live a long, healthy life, okay? That’s the only way we’ll really be able to enjoy ourselves.”
“And remember, if I’m not home and you come back for dinner, be careful. Most of the staff here are Natalie’s people. Who knows what they might try.”

The readers' comments on the novel: After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan)
Author, please get your characters names right. You always messing them up!...
I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped, mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
