After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 880

Nadine heard Isabella shout, but that just made her hit the car even harder.

Isabella rushed over and grabbed her, trying to pull her away. Nadine fought back, yelling, “I’ll smash it, I’ll smash it, I wish I could smash your whole store!”

Harold hurried over and helped hold Nadine down, stopping her from causing any more trouble.

He turned to his bodyguards. “Nadine’s losing it. Why didn’t you stop her right away?”

Isabella stepped in, her voice firm. “She just went off. No one had time to react. Harold, don’t blame them. Just hold her still, I’m calling the police.”

She let go, and Harold, being stronger, kept Nadine pinned in place.

“Yeah, call them,” he said.

Isabella pulled out her phone and dialed the police.

Nadine, still struggling and shouting, froze when she heard Isabella say she was calling the cops. Her face went pale, and suddenly all her bravado disappeared.

She started shouting, “Isabella, please, don’t call the police! I’m sorry, okay? I’ll stop, just don’t call them! Harold, help me, stop her, don’t let her call!”

If the police got involved, she’d have to pay for the car, but worse than that, news would get back to her family. Her reputation would be trashed. The thought of it made her panic, and she began begging Isabella not to call.

But Isabella wasn’t in the mood to forgive. She finished her call and waited for the police to show up.

The two men rushed over. They hadn’t expected Nadine to go off like that, so they’d reacted too slowly earlier, but now they grabbed her and held her tight. No matter how much she thrashed around, she couldn’t break free.

It wasn’t long before the police showed up.

Isabella calmly explained everything and showed them the security footage from the shop entrance. Bystanders backed up her story, all of them agreeing Nadine was at fault.

Once the police arrived, Harold’s bodyguards let go of Nadine. She didn’t dare run. Desperate, she tried to defend herself, insisting Isabella had provoked her and that was why she’d smashed the car.

No one bought her story. The officers just gave her a stern talking-to, completely unimpressed by her excuses.
