Natalie stayed silent.
Jordan gently took her hand, his voice soft but serious. “Natalie, I messed up. Just this once. I swear I’ll never hurt you again.”
“For the sake of everything we’ve shared over the years, can you forgive me? Just this once?”
He paused, searching her eyes. “But you have to promise me something too. Don’t go running to Ethan again. Honestly, I’ve always noticed how good you are to him. I get jealous, I really do, but I never said anything because I didn’t want us to fight. So I kept it in.”
“Natalie, you’re my wife. I want you to love me, only me. Please, let go of whatever you still feel for Ethan. He’s moved on now. He’s with Isabella.”
“So why are you still chasing after his attention? Unless you really want to leave me for him. But even if you did, Ethan would actually have to want to marry you, and he’s made it clear he doesn’t.”
Natalie finally spoke. “Jordan, this is between us. Why do you have to drag Ethan into it?”
The truth was, Ethan had already turned her down. He’d told her he just wanted to get back together with Isabella.
That special place she used to have in his heart felt further away than ever.
Sure, Natalie wanted to win Ethan back, and she was still trying to figure out how to finish the task York had given her. But deep down, she knew her real life was with Jordan. She didn’t want a divorce.
Staying with Jordan was her backup plan.
Of course, in a perfect world, things would go back to how they once were: married to Jordan, best friends with Ethan, Ethan doting on her and always there to protect her. If that wasn’t possible, then maybe she’d divorce Jordan and marry Ethan instead.
But if neither of those options worked out, she’d stick with the safest choice: stay married to Jordan and build a life with him.
She had her mistakes, and Jordan had cheated too. At this point, they were even.
His daughter may have gone to Ethan late at night, may have thrown herself at him, but nothing actually happened. Compared to what Jordan had done, Natalie’s mistake seemed small.
No matter how he looked at it, she still had the stronger case.
Natalie answered, “Dad, of course I want to stay with Jordan. I don’t want a divorce. I admit I still have feelings for Ethan, but I chose Jordan. Ethan just isn’t right for me.”
“What I want from Ethan is his power and status. When he’s good to me, I get a lot out of it, and even Jordan benefits. But when it comes to real life, I want to be with Jordan.”
Gilbert seemed like he wanted to say something, but all he did was sigh and turn away, unable to look at the two of them.
He couldn’t figure out how Natalie had ended up here.
She’d started out with such a strong hand, but now it felt like she’d lost it all.

I wish Harold will win Isabella's heart. I was so sad when Isabela was taken for granted coldly and cruelly by her supposed to be husband, and trapped,mocked and humiliated non stop by Natalie. This was so cruel, both don't deserve Isabela' forgiveness I wish for a happy ending between Isabela and Harold, he has the right to be happy after the long wait....
Frankly, the story initially was going quite good and the pacing was just right. unfortunately after Ethan got the dream of his past life, the story has been going in circles. Ethan's spouting the same nonsense every time he sees Isabella, they both have same conversations over and over. The authors monologue too has been the same for almost 400 chapters. Irrespective of which character the writing the just a repetition of what someone had gone through in the past and what made a certain character feel the emotions. York got introduced in 800 chapters yet nothing significant happened till date. Isabella is soft with Harold and kind of disgusted with Ethan, yet it is not entirely clear with whom she might end up. If she stays single i am fine with it but the story is clearly about Isabella and Ethan so almost 1000 chapters without seeing any progress in their relationship is frustrating. Except for being blindly in love and few aggressive instances with Isabella, Ethan actually isnt a bad person so i am fine if he can win her back. Even though Harold is coming off as a good second lead, i am somehow unable to warm upto him. Even the bad people in the story are not really facing any real consequences. I hate Jackson for his hypocrisy. I hate Jordan and Natalie for their self-righteouness and selfishness. I also hate Deborah, except when she is handing it out to Natalie. I am almost on the verge of dropping this story....
Why are they acting like kids 🤣😭...
Ethan is actually not that bad if we take out his blind love for Natalie...
