Chapter 47
Elle’s POV

Pain shot through my abdomen as I lay sprawled on the ground. I clutched my belly, fear rushing through
me like ice water.
Sophia dropped everything she was holding and rushed to my side, moving with that unnatural werewolf
speed I still wasn’t used to.
“Sophia, my stomach hurts… please save my baby…” I whimpered, gripping her hand tightly.
Sophia’s face went ghostly white. She looked like her soul had nearly left her body. “Elle, don’t worry, you’ll
be fine,” she assured me, though I could see the panic behind her eyes. “You and the baby will be okay.”
Luna Ada knelt beside me, her face filled with remorse. Entschuldigung… it’s you!” she exclaimed in
accented English. “I’m so sorry!”
Sophia spoke to her in rapid German, her voice urgent. caught something about a hospital and help.
Luna Ada nodded immediately. “My car is nearby. We’ll go right now!”
Within moments, a sleek black car pulled up. Sophia and Luna Ada carefully helped me inside, their movements gentle around my midsection. The car sped through the streets faster than I thought possible
in city traffic.
At the medical center, I was rushed into the human emergency room. The pain had subsided somewhat, but fear still gripped me. While doctors examined me, my phone suddenly rang. I winced as I tried to reach for
“Let me get that,” Sophia said, grabbing my phone. Her eyes widened. “It’s Brad.”
He knows already? What the hell?
She answered quickly. “Alpha? Yes, she’s right here…” Sophia’s expression shifted to surprise. “You felt it through the mate bond? I see.”
I watched as she explained the situation, her voice calm but respectful. “Elle is okay… just minor bruises… the doctor says she and the pup are fine…”
I could hear Brad’s urgent voice through the phone, though I couldn’t make out his words. Whatever he

said made Sophia’s eyes widen slightly before she nodded. “We’re at the medical center. She’s being
examined now… Yes, I’ll stay with her until you arrive.”
Then she hung up the phone.

I closed my eyes, wondering how Brad was taking the news. Would he be angry? Worried about his heir? Or
maybe…worried about me?
Soon I was moved to a private room with an IV in my arm. My face must have been pale, but the doctors
assured me everything was stable.
Luna Ada sat in a chair beside my bed, her expression guilty. “Thank you so much! If it hadn’t been for you,
I might have been seriously injured.”
I shook my head weakly. “It’s nothing. I would have done the same for anyone in that position.”
Sophia returned with some medical forms, her demeanor cool but respectful toward Luna Ada. Then she
turned to me, eyes flashing with anger.
“That was reckless!” she hissed. “Do you have any idea how dangerous that was? If that careless driver had hit your stomach instead of your leg, do you think this pup would have survived?”
I tugged gently at Sophia’s sleeve, trying to remind her that Luna Ada was still present. But before I could say anything, the door burst open, and Brad stormed in radiating Alpha energy that seemed to fill the
entire room.
His eyes found me immediately. It was as if no one else existed. He rushed to my bedside, his nostrils flaring slightly as he scented me, checking for injuries. He grabbed my hand, his amber eyes flashing with
golden light.
“Are you… are you alright?” he asked, his deep voice tight with worry.
“I’m fine…” I started to say, trying to subtly gesture toward Luna Ada. But Brad misunderstood my
meaning.
To my absolute shock, he leaned down and pressed his ace against my stomach, listening for the baby’s heartbeat. I froze, unable to process this intimate gesture.
Sophia turned away, clearly embarrassed by her Alpha’s uncharacteristic behavior. Brad looked confused. “The pup’s scent is strong, but I can’t hear anything…”

Luna Ada cleared her throat delicately, releasing a subtle hint of her own scent. Brad’s head snapped up,
and when he turned, his amber eyes widened in surprise.
“Luna Ada? What are you doing here?”
“Elle saved me,” Luna Ada explained calmly. “I’m deeply sorry that my carelessness put her in danger.”
Brad hadn’t expected this. He straightened immediately, his demeanor shifting to something more formal.
“Please don’t blame yourself, Luna. That my mate happened to save you must be fate. Are you alright? Do
you need our medical team to examine you?”
una Ada seemed pleased with his response. I noticed her gaze lingering on our hands-Brad was still
holding mine protectively.
“Thank you for your concern, Alpha Brad. I’m unharmed” She smiled slightly. “I’ll take my leave now.”
Brad nodded and started to rise, presumably to escort her out, but Luna Ada held up a hand to stop him. Alex appeared at the doorway, offering to see her out instead.
After Luna Ada left, Sophia glanced between Brad and me with curious eyes. “I should go too,” she said. “You two need to talk. Call me if you need anything.” She nodded at me, discreetly sniffing to confirm my
stable condition before leaving.
The room fell silent. I suddenly realized Brad was still Holding my hand, his skin much warmer than a human’s. I curled my fingers and pulled away, uncomfortable with such intimacy from the Alpha. Brad stared at his empty palm for a moment, as if he could still feel my touch.
“Luna Ada was-” I began to explain, but Brad cut me off.
“Who gave you permission to do that?” His voice carried an Alpha’s growl, his eyes flashing gold.
I looked up in confusion, meeting those amber eyes now gleaming with anger. I realized he was upset because I’d risked his unborn heir. I lowered my head.
“I’m sorry…”
I missed the concern in Brad’s eyes as I looked down. He spoke firmly: “You’re staying here at the medical center for the next few days. I’ll arrange for doctors to monitor you personally.”
Before I could respond, Alex knocked and entered.

“Alpha Brad,” he reported, “the werewolf doctor confirms that both Elle and the pup are fine. The driver only hit Elle’s leg, with no impact to the abdomen.”
Brad nodded slightly, but his eyes still glinted dangerously. “Whose car was it?”
“A manager from Purple Pine Biologics,” Alex answered efficiently. “They supply special skincare
ingredients for werewolves. The company was recently approved by the werewolf council and is a
subsidiary of the Carter Group. Their assets are around one billion, with special operating permits in
Moonshade Bay. Their manager came to discuss potential cooperation with Rayne Group and to meet with
Raymond Carter, the president of Carter Group.”
Raymond Carter?
“Mr. Carter has already heard about Elle’s injury,” Alex continued. “His assistant called to say he wants to personally come to the medical center to apologize. He’s requesting a meeting with you and would like to
see Elle as well.”
Brad’s expression darkened, his eyes flashing with something possessive. For some reason, he seemed
particularly averse.
I’d never seen Brad so angry before.

Not sure how the story ended without completing the circle on what happened to Sophia and Lester. That loop was just left hanging... what happened with the Blair contract of having to married Raymond? All Eleanor wanted was a piece of Rayne industries?...
