"I’m calling the police right now, this is... a kidnapping!"
"Calling the police?!"
Mo Bei chuckled, and the young people around seemed to hear some sort of huge joke and laughed along.
Tongtong pretended to be confused but soon realized that the call couldn’t go through; there was only a busy tone.
"Miss, don’t waste your battery. We’ve installed a jammer here. Unless you have a satellite phone, no one will hear you even if you scream your lungs out!" A teenager with dyed blonde hair shouted.
The people around burst into laughter again.
Tongtong lowered her phone, and her nervousness rose once more.
The call couldn’t connect, and it was clear everyone around was with Mo Bei. Now, she truly couldn’t seek help from anyone; in the middle of nowhere at night, they could easily do away with her, and no one would know.
Seeing Mo Bei standing there with arms folded and a smile, Tongtong hesitated for a moment but eventually stepped forward.
"Assistant Mo... um, it was my fault before, your bicycle... I’ll pay, ninety-eight thousand, right. I’ll give you a hundred thousand!" Tongtong reached into her bag, pulled out a check, and handed it to Mo Bei.
Next to them, Sasha burst into laughter, "Sis, take a good look, can that thing even cash out?!"
Tongtong opened the checkbook and looked at the check.
The check was real, but it was dated 2110!
It was just a worthless check.
She had only focused on the numbers when she got the check and didn’t even notice the date on it.
