After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1737

Chapter 1737: Dealing with Cauis Glen

After meeting with one of the Cooke Brothers, the older Cuppin Farrol, they set their detailed meeting in the premier restaurant. They had their own private room and offered to treat them with the best food Alterra could offer.

What the Holtens had seen so far was already plenty impressive, so they had high expectations from what they now know to be one of the leaders in Alterra’s food industry.

Interestingly, the meeting didn’t just include the Cuppin brothers but quite a few others.

For one, there was a man named Harold. He was apparently the owner of Gaea Restaurant, where they had eaten before. Mattheo, for one, gulped, impressed, and looking forward to talking with him.

Harold smiled. "My food is inferior to the Cooke’s; you can expect great things from today’s menu."

They smiled, also curious. It seemed like he wasn’t there to offer similar products as the Cooke brothers.

"Since you are here, could we assume that you have business with us as well?"

"I am my team’s representative in terms of our food businesses."

They nodded. They looked calm, though they were quite looking forward to it internally.

"Does this include the grocery and supermarket?" Mattheo asked. They had naturally done their research, so they knew about the Gaea Team.

The more they found out about this team, the more impressed they were. It was estimated that they had done more for this world than many noble families in most cities.

They were planning on approaching within the next few days, in fact. Seeing them here like this was just as well.

"Yes," Harold said, nodding. "While franchising wouldn’t be possible for us at this time, we can make an agreement for an increased purchase limit and better dealer prices for your purchases."

Cauis’ eyebrows rose, and Mattheo brightened. The prices were good, but it was the purchase limits that was the bane of the merchants coming here!

On another note, franchising wasn’t an open idea for Gaea Team outside of their satellites. It was being considered, but it wasn’t the time.

The Cookes could do this because they had experience with it in Terran, and while the Gaea team was focused more on product development than expansion for now.

Anyway, it was much more cost-efficient to just sell products, so the operational problems would be limited.

...maybe, someday, they could use the [Sanctum of Constructs] for this when they became a City, but for now, it was not so profitable for their team.

Soon, the food arrived. This time, the head chef was with them to join in the discussions too. There were already plenty of capable chefs in the kitchen, so Cooke didn’t really have to be there all the time anymore.

The scent reached their noses, and their stomachs growled, their mouths drying up.

Then the food was placed on the table, presented by the head chef himself.

The plating alone was superior to anything they had seen. Was that a flower? No, it was a vegetable. What were those accents? They were different herbs that not only added aesthetics, but also a burst of flavors that elevated the taste even more.

Anyway, even with their usually critical eyes on food as Holten people, they just couldn’t stop themselves from taking several bites before thinking about anything else.

When people said this was the best, they realized they were understatements!

The taste was sublime, memorable, and it felt like they were taken to another part of their world. It also had an effect, which was not a surprise considering Cooke’s profession, but the enhanced food in Holt could not compare in taste.

Even with the snobby food critics in Holt City, this would definitely do well. Not to mention, they could definitely charge much higher than the market price, which was huge profits considering the actual costs.
