Chapter 128
‘Get lost!‘ Louisa snapped fiercely.
The man jumped, startled by her outburst. “Fine, fine. Why so aggressive, little miss?” He walked away, muttering under his breath.
She returned to her phone, searching for a ride service.
When Julian passed by, he caught sight of her swaying unsteadily at the roadside, cursing at strangers.
He couldn’t help but smile, pulling his car to a stop in front of her. “Get in,” he commanded.
Louisa looked up to find the handsome Julian in the backseat. Though tipsy, she wasn’t completely out of it–she recognized him as both her boss and neighbor. She obediently climbed in, settling beside him.
Julian caught the faint scent of alcohol clinging to her. “Been drinking?”
“Yes, indeed!” She nodded again, hands braced against the seat, sitting unnaturally straight–looking both obedient and slightly ridiculous.
Where was the confident career woman who commanded boardrooms with such authority?
“Sit properly,” Julian ordered.
Louisa frowned at him. “Aren’t I sitting properly already?”
Before she could get an answer, someone darted across the narrow road ahead. Bob swerved sharply. Everyone else remained steady- except Louisa, who tumbled right into Julian’s arms.
He looked down at her. “This is what happens when you don’t sit properly.” He wrapped his arms around her limp body and pulled her
onto his lap.
Louisa, tipsy from alcohol, had no awareness of how intimate their position was. She only knew she craved the comfort of his scent, instinctively resting her head against his shoulder.
The strong smell of alcohol wafted from her red lips, brushing his neck and filling his senses.
“Just how much did you drink?” He turned to look at her.
From his angle, he couldn’t see her face–only her luscious red lips In his line of sight, Completely oblivious, she parted those soft lips, “Not that much. Don’t believe me? Check for yourself.”
Check? How exactly?

Chapter 128
P
:.
Julian stared at her lips, his Adam’s apple bobbing slightly, his breath growing warmer,
In the front seat, Bob and Teddy watched through the rearview mirror, internally screaming with excitement. The sexual tension was
killing them.
Kiss her already, Mr. Tudor! Ms. Forbes is practically throwing herself at you–how can you not take the hint?
But Julian refused to give in. Not only did he not kiss her, he actually pushed her face away.
Louisa wasn’t having it. “Why are you pushing me?” she mumbled. She snuggled closer into his embrace, shifting her bottom on his lap,
trying to get even nearer.
Julian froze at her movement, his heart pounding, that spot in his chest tingling intensely.
Was this woman deliberately trying to get herself into trouble? He wanted to toss her out of the car.
But ultimately, he placed his hand beneath her bottom, pulling her closer into his chest so she could rest comfortably against him. He thought she’d behave after that.
However, her hands started wandering over his body until they found his Adam’s apple.
Finding it fascinating, she poked it with one finger. “Julian, why is this part of you so bumpy… and it moves.”
“Louisa!” Julian’s breathing grew ragged as he grabbed her mischievous hand. His voice turned gravelly. “Stop fidgeting. Sit still or I’ll
throw you out.”
Louisa was startled by his tone. “Fine, I’ll stop,” she pouted. “Why so grumpy?”
The two men in the front seats were nearly bursting with suppressed laughter.
This was their first time seeing Louisa drunk, their first time witnessing their boss utterly defenseless against someone’s flirtations. Was he really being this indulgent with her?
In the end, Julian didn’t throw Louisa out. He studied the intoxicated woman in his arms for a long moment before asking, ‘Be honest- why did you drink so much? Tough first day? Subordinates giving you trouble?”
Despite her drunkenness, Louisa somehow understood his question perfectly. “As if! Subordinates are nothing. It’s Teresa who’s the real problem.”
