Chapter 142
George’s heart shattered at Louisa’s final words.
Gone forever? No! They could go back. They had to. Ten years of love–how could that be irretrievable?
But as he leaned back against the sofa and closed his eyes, Caden’s words from last night echoed in his mind:
Vivian is seriously ill. You know she’s our family’s most beloved daughter. If anything happens to her, the entire Price family won’t let Louisa off the hook.
“But do you still have the power to protect Louisa?
“Your Capulet Group is facing several major challenges–you can’t even extricate yourself from those problems. And that’s the best–case scenario. The worst
case?
“Worst scenario, you anger your father, who removes you as CEO of the Capulet Group. Then you’ll have nothing. You’ll push Louisa straight into Julian’s arms, and you’ll have no ability to protect her at all.
“Your relationship with Louisa is beyond repair. Rather than dragging this out, making her hate you more, why not let go for now?
“This way, you solve one of your company’s major problems, our family saves Vivian, and our families can collaborate. With power, influence, and capability, who’s to say you can’t win Louisa back later?
“Let her go!”
Those words kept reverberating in his ears, mercilessly tormenting his heart.
After a long silence, he finally spoke slowly, “Alright. I agree to the divorce.”
As he uttered those final words, a tear rolled down his cheek.
Louisa hadn’t expected him to agree so readily. To be certain, she asked again, “You’re serious? You’re not lying to me?”
“I’m not lying. Make the appointment and let me know when it’s set.”
His final words carried resignation and defeat.
Louisa nodded. “Thank you.”
George couldn’t speak. He agreed to divorce, and she said thank you? How desperately she must want this divorce.
Having achieved her goal, Louisa stood up. “I’ll be going then.”
George nodded, not moving to see her out. He feared that one more look would break his resolve.
Louisa left his office.
Jared escorted her to the elevator, asking reluctantly, “Mrs. Capulet, is it really over between you and Mr. Capulet?”

“It’s over, Louisa confirmed with a nod.

Jared felt a sense of loss. But what could he say when the couple had already decided?
Seeing George’s haggard appearance, Louisa felt a twinge of sympathy despite the necessity of their divorce. She considered asking Jared to take good care of
him.
But the words died on her lips. George hadn’t signed the divorce papers yet–what if her concern made him think she still had feelings for him? What if he changed his mind?
After consideration, she decided it was better to say nothing. She went straight home.
That afternoon, she didn’t go to work. Instead, she made an appointment with the court to finalize their divorce the next morning at ten. She immediately called George to inform him of the time, and he agreed.
Everything was proceeding more smoothly than expected. But there was still one issue troubling her.
Julian had ensured Vivian remained locked up, blocking all the Price family’s appeals. Without his intervention, her divorce negotiations might not have gone so smoothly.
Now she needed to convince him to release Vivian. After all his protection, how could she make such a request?
She couldn’t think of a good approach. Julian’s thoughts were difficult to predict.
She pondered this while waiting for him to return home.
Around eight in the evening, she finally heard footsteps outside. With only two apartments on this floor, it had to be him.
She immediately opened her door. Sure enough, Julian was returning.
She greeted him with a bright smile. “Mr. Tudor, you’re back.”
Julian glanced at her smile. “What mischief are you planning now?”
‘Don’t say that,” Louisa replied. “I have something I’d like to discuss with you privately. May 1?”
He raised an eyebrow slightly. “Come in.”
Teddy and Bob exchanged glances and said simultaneously, “We’ll be going then!”
Louisa didn’t want to chase them away. “No need! Mr. Tudor can come to my place. It won’t take long.”
Julian nodded.
Louisa opened her door and invited him in.
Outside, Teddy and Bob exchanged pleased smiles.

Chapter 142
This was Julian’s first time in Louisa’s home. Sitting on the sofa, he couldn’t help but look around at the layout.
“It’s a small place, Mr. Tudor. Hope you don’t mind,” Louisa said.
Julian smiled. “Is this what you invite me for? A discussion about your place?”
Louisa didn’t know how to respond and instead poured him a glass of water. “Please, have some water.”
Her excessive politeness annoyed him. He took the water, drank a sip, and said directly, “Alright, I’ve had the water. What do you want?”
After a moment’s hesitation, Louisa began, “It’s actually quite simple–just requires one word from you…”
“Get to the point,” he said impatiently.
Could you withdraw your people who are blocking the Price family’s appeals? I’m planning to reconcile with them.”
Julian paused mid–sip.
In an instant, all warmth vanished from his eyes. He looked at her with a hint of coldness. “Is this what you and George agreed on today?”
Louisa nodded. “Yes.”
That single word chilled his expression further.
Louisa didn’t notice and asked, “Would you agree to this?”
After a moment, Julian asked, “Why?”
Louisa was confused. What did he mean, why? Should she explain her arrangement with George?
This was her private business after all. Would it be strange to explain her personal affairs to him?
While she hesitated, Julian spoke again. “It seems you’re planning to reconcile with your husband.”
As he said this, though his face was expressionless, Louisa still sensed a chill in his tone.
Was he mad? But why? Was it even necessary? She found it difficult to guess what was in his mind.
Giving up guessing, she asked again, “So, Mr. Tudor, do you agree?”
Julian went silent for a moment before answering, “Sure, why wouldn’t I?”
With that, he took out his phone and called Teddy directly, ‘Remove the people blocking the Price family.”
Then he hung up and coldly asked indifferently, “Are you satisfied now, Ms. Forbes?
