Louisa tilted her head slightly. The pen holder grazed her eyebrow, leaving a thin red mark. Yet she remained seated, unfazed, even smiling.
“Mr. Tudor already said the workers should be paid, which means this money will be reimbursed eventually. But when something like this affects the Tudor
Group’s reputation, do you think he’ll be pleased?” She leaned forward slightly.
“If you took initiative, compensated the workers, and handled this beautifully, what boss wouldn’t appreciate that? But you insist on following procedures.
“Yes, the issue will eventually be resolved, but only the wage problem–not the reputation problem. The matter will be handled half–heartedly. How can you
expect the boss to appreciate you enough for a promotion?”
“After all this talk, you just want me to sign? Fine!” Teresa trembled with rage, unwilling to hear Louisa flaunt herself any longer.
She hastily scribbled her signature on the application and threw it at Louisa. “Satisfied? Now get out!”
Louisa gathered the papers and stood slowly, a cold smile directed at Teresa What problems did losing your temper ver solve? Results were what mattered.
Before leaving, she didn’t forget to take her coffee cup.
Back in the work area, Marlee noticed her injury and rushed over. “Ms. Forbes, what happened to your face?”

“Nothing serious.” Louisa handed her the signed application. “Take this to the finance department for the workers wage reimbursement. Then, bring supervisor in charge of Oakridge Commons.”
The Oakridge Commons development was nearly complete, with only the finishing work on the final building remaining–a week’s work at most. The next challenge would be sales, which was the most difficult part.
Over the following days, she was busy creating a new marketing plan, which progressed smoothly. Since George was away on business, he couldn’t cause trouble, allowing her to focus entirely on work.
She and Julian hadn’t seen each other at all. Strangely, they used to encounter each other daily–of work, going home, even passing on the street.
Now that he’d chosen not to see her, he’d vanished completely, as if he’d never existed in her world.
Whenever she left or returned home, she’d instinctively glance at his door, but it never opened. She didn’t even know if he still lived at Cozy Community.
Perhaps he didnt. Alter
er all, why would the CEO of the Tudor Group, a son of the Tudor family, settle for such a modest apartment? It seemed absurd.
But she didn’t mind. People coming and going was the natural order of things.
When she finished the new sales plan, she faced another dilemma. The plan abandoned the Tudor Group’s traditional design style for something entirely new–something their design team had no experience with.
They might need to hire outside help, which would increase the budget.
If she approached Teresa, given her personality, she would certainly reject the proposal. It was too bold, But should she go to Julian instead?

Chapter 146
A commotion lupted outside, interupting her thoughts of how to persuade him: “Mr. Tudor will be here for an inspection in ten minutes! Everyone look sharp! Clean up your areas. Hey you–can you please organize your desk properly?”
Frantic sounds followed as everyone scrambled to prepare. It was Julian’s first personal inspection.
Everyone tensed up as excitement filled their hearts, especially the female employees. After quickly tidying their spaces, they then pulled out makeup bags to touch up their appearance.
This was especially true in Louisa’s Group Seven, which consisted mostly of attractive women who became particularly busy with preparations
Louisa smiled wryly, not understanding the fuss.
When it was time, she left her office and led her team to the investment department’s main hall. Twelve groups, twelve teams, standing neatly in twelve
sections. People from several assistance departments formed another section. Teresa stood at the front.
Soon, the number of the elevator hit 24, and the entire room fell into an eerie silence.
As the elevator doors slid open, a tall, imposing figure appeared–Julian His posture was straight as a pine tree, his custom–tailored suit perfectly fitting frame, ending restraint. His features were cold and handsome, his expression neutral.
As he s
stepped out of the elevator, his movements were steady and elegant, each step seeming to measure the ground beneath him.
Many female employees could barely contain their excitement. Their CEO was so handsome and captivating!
Teresa approached him in an elegant white suit dress, smiling brightly. “Mr. Tudor.”
Everyone chorused, “Good day. Mr. Tudor!”
Louisa joined in the greeting.
Julian nodded in acknowledgment, his cool gaze sweeping over everyone present without lingering on anyone in particular.
Teresa witnessed this and couldn’t have been more delighted
She knew it -women like Louisa who had been married before would never catch Julian’s eye
After all, Julian was just chasing after something novel and temporary.
So she stepped forward with a sweet smile and said, “Mr. Tudor, it’s rare for you to come down and inspect things personally. Are you concemed about everyone’s work performance?
‘I must say, everyone has been doing quite well lately, especially Ms. Forbes, who has been truly outstanding among like to offer her some words of encouragement?”
The moment those words left her mouth, the entire room fell silent again.
new employees. Perhaps you would
Wasn’t she basically suggesting to everyone that Mr. Tudor’s first inspection visit since taking over the Tudor Group was specifically for Louisa?
Instantly, everyone turned to Louisa with looks of envy, jealousy, and resentment,
Louisa, who was desperately trying to make herself invisible, rolled her eyes secretly. Teresa must b
hate her very much.
