Julian’s gaze swept over Louisa, as cold and detached as ever, revealing nothing before he shifted his attention elsewhere.
His eyes returned to Teresa. “Ms. Hughes, you show great concern for your subordinates, which is commendable. You also handled the Oakridge Commons
embezzlement situation exceptionally well. You may resume your position as director.”
Teresa froze before her face lit up with delight. She had intended to embarrass Loula, never expecting Julian would publicly praise her instead. What
unexpected bonus,
Her smile sweetened as she responded, “Thank you, Mr. Tudor.”
Julian gave a slight nod before addressing the room. “I came here today because I have an announcement to make.”
The room fell silent as everyone watched him with anxious expressions, wondering whether his news would be good or bad.
Teddy stepped forward to stand beside julian. “Mr. Tudor has been observing everyone’s performance lately,” he announced in a clear voice. “The Tudor Group believes in fair rewards and consequences. Mr. Tudor intends to establish a special project team within the investment department to handle certain
projects from headquarters. Anyone who performs exceptionally well has a chance to join
He didn’t elaborate further or define what would qualify as “exceptional” performance.
The room instantly erupted with excitement–the wild euphoria of being hit with a multi–million dollar, lottery win.
A team personally selected by Julian would undoubtedly handle major projects and report directly to him, bypassing the company’s usual hierarchical
approval process.
While most people could barely contain themselves, only a few faces showed concern.
Someone gathered the courage to ask, “Mr. Tudor, are there any position requirements or restrictions for this team?”
“No position restrictions, no rank limitations, Julian replied with a faint smile.
This statement caused the room to lose all composure. No one had expected such broad criteria or such a mild response to an employee’s question.
Once they recovered from the shock, everyone rushed to speak with Julian.
The only
ly person not joining the commotion was Louisa. She seemed uninterested in the bombshell announcement, simply checking her phone when it
buzzed with a message from her friend Flora.
As she lowered her head to reply, she didn’t notice the cool, penetrating gaze that briefly fell upon her before falian cleared his throat.
The department instantly fell silent again, all eyes turning toward him.
“That’s all. Everyone may disperse,” he said.
“Yes, Mr. Tudor, they responded in unison as he prepared to leave.
Teresa, still dazed, finally snapped out of her trance. “Tulian…..” she called out.

Chapter 147
He turned slightly. “Something else?”
Teresa hit her hip hard, looking witerly pitiful. She wanted to ask why he hadn’t consulted her about this decision–if he was doing this for Louisa,
A woman’s intuition told her it was all for that bitch, but with everyone watching, she couldn’t say these things.
Just then, Louisa walked past them, and Teresa suddenly had an idea.
In a voice perfectly calibrated for Louisa to overhear, she announced, ‘It’s nothing important. I just wanted to tell you that Mom Adeline called today. Since it’s Valentine’s Day, she wants us to have dinner at home together. She said she has something to discuss with us.”
Sure enough, Louisa reflexively glanced their way.
Julian met her confused gaze, his expression hardening as he told Teresa, “I don’t discuss personal matters during work hours.”
“Then call me after work. I’ll wait and we can leave together,” Teresa smiled.
“Fine,” Julian responded before leaving with Teddy.
Once in the elevator, he gave Teddy a cold look. “What happened to Louisa’s face? The injury?”
“Injury?” Teddy was momentarily confused. “She has an injury on her face?”
don’t
After thinking for a moment, he remembered. “Oh, that. It was about the back pay issue. You didn’t approve her request, so she went to Ms. Hughes, I d know what was said, but she somehow angered Ms. Hughes, who approved her request but also left a cut near her eye. It wasn’t serious–it’s almost
completely healed now.”
He hadn’t expected his boss to notice such a minor scar. “Mr. Tudor, you do care about Ms. Forbes,” he smiled.
Julian’s expression remained unchanged. I care about all my employees.”
Teddy sighed inwardly. Why had he never received such ‘care‘?
Back in the investment department, Teresa finally dropped her facade of kindness after Julian lest.
She gave Louisa a disdainful look and said with a fake smile, “I’m sorry, Ms. Forbes. You may have resolved the worker issue, but as you saw, I tried Mr. Tudor to recognize your efforts, but he wasn’t willing to praise you. There’s nothing more I can do
d to get
The implication was crystal clear: No matter how well you handle things, at the end of the day, you’re just an employee. The credit ultimately belongs to me. What could you possibly have that could compete with me?”
