Chapter 159
Vivian’s confidence wavered as
She remembered George’s phone call last night–how he had scolded her, begged her not to cause Louise any more trouble.
When she had softened her tone and pleaded with him, he had fallen silent.
Was Louisa right? If she had continued playing the victim, would George have continued loving her? But George had explicitly told her he wouldn t divorce
Seeing Vivian’s expression falter, Louisa pressed her advantage. “Besides, you and George share more than just love. Your families have business partnerships. He simply doesn’t like being forced into decisions, but as long as you two stayed together, marriage was inevitable, wasnt it?”
Vivian’s thoughts were interrupted before she could fully process Louisa’s words. Her beaw furrowed as she stared at Louisa. Could this be true?
Before she could think it through, footsteps sounded from outside.
It was George.
His expression changed dramatically at the scene before him.
“What the hell are you doing?” he shouted at Vivian. “Let her gol Right now!”
Vivian jumped at the familiar voice and turned. “George?”
How had he found them? She whirled back toward Louisa, her eyes wild. “You were stalling for time all along, weren’t you?”
Louisa couldn’t believe her accusation. What else was she supposed to do–wait to die?
Vivian lost all control. Despite George’s presence, she screamed at Louisa, “You bitch You think you’ll survive this? Dream on! You’re going to die today!”
She flung the lit lighter toward Louisa,
George let out an anguished cry, “Louisa!”
Watching the lighter are toward her, Louisa felt both despair and frustration. George, that bastard–why did he have to appear now, of all times!
She had almost convinced Vivian. All her efforts were wasted.
As the lighter was about to hit the ground, as flames were about to consume everything, she closed her eyes in despair.
Vivian watched with manic excitement, savoring Louisa’s fear and hopelessness,
But in the last second before the lighter hit the ground, a dark figure flashed by and caught it.
The gasoline remained unignited. The inferno they had imagined never cator.
Vivian stared at the tall figure that had suddenly appeared. “Who are you?” Her face drained of salar.

She had gambled everything on killing Louisa, but now not only had Louisa been saved, but Vivian herself had been exped
In that montent, only one thought remained in her mind–if she died, the would take Losita with her.
She grabbed a fruit knife from the table and lunged at Louisa.
With her hands and feet bound, Louisa couldn’t dodge. In the darkness, she only saw a shadow leap toward her, shielding her body
The familiar scent made her recognize him instantly. “Mr. Tudor?”
“It’s me,” came the calm reply.
His voice made all the tension Louisa had been holding suddenly release. She felt an overwhelming urge to cry.
He had come. He had actually y come for her.
Immediately after, Vivian’s piercing scream filled the air.
George turned on the living room lights. The scene became clear to everyone.
Vivian was restrained by Teddy: Louisa was bound with tape; Julian’s white shirt was stained red–he had blocked the knife with his arm.
Seeing his wound, Louisa’s voice trembled. “You’re hurt!”
“It’s nothing.”
“Such a deep wound, and you say it’s nothing?”
Her eyes reddened with concern.
Julian noticed and smiled slightly. “Teddy, bring scissors, he instructed.
Teddy gave Vivian a hand kick before heading to the kitchen for scissors.
Taking them, Julian carefully cut through the tape between Louisa’s hands, then gently began peeling it from her wrists.

Chapter 159
Julian didn’t stop her, looking down at her with tender eyes.
Nearby, George witnessed the scene, his eyes stinging with pain.
According to his usual temperament, he should have gone over and
pushed Julian away.
But at this moment, his feet seemed nailed to the floor, immobile.
How had Julian beaten him to it again?
If he had been the one to shield her from the knife, would she have shown the same concern?
But the reality was, he wasn’t the one who protected her. Instead, he was the one who had caused her all this suffering.
Soon after, the police arrived, along with Sadie and Flora.
Louisa explained what had happened.
Flora was beside herself with rage. Ignoring the police presence, she rushed at Vivian, striking her. “You bitch! Wasn’t it enough to be the mistress and steal Louisa’s husband? Wasn’t it enough to have her assaulted? Now you want to burn her alive? How evil can you be?”
Sadie looked at Vivian with disgust. “Ill charge you with attempted murder. You can spend the rest of your life in prison. You’ll never see freedom again!”
Vivian, who had been sitting on the floor like a defeated dog, went wild at the mention of prison.
She raised her head, pleading with George through tears, “George, it’s not like that! It’s not what you think! Louisa forced me into this–I’m the victim here!
She framed me! You have to believe me!”
