settlement just came through, she replied, staring at her phone screen.
Is it the amount you agreed on? That jerk didn’t try to lowball you, did he?”
“No.” Louisa shook her head slowly. “He gave me an extra billion dollars.”
There was a clatter on the other end of the line, followed by choking sounds.
“He gave you four billion dollars? Flora asked in disbelief.
“Yes!
Louisa couldn’t tear her eyes from the string of zeros. Though she wasn’t someone who placed excessive value on money–she had her own ability to create wealth–she wasn’t above acknowledging what she deserved.
She had worked tirelessly for the Capulet Group only to end up betrayed.
That’s why she had asked Hazel for two billion in compensation. She deserved that much.
A long silence filled the call until Sadie finally spoke, “That jerk, I really don’t know what goes on in a way that makes you want to tear him apart.

But just when you think he’s all bad, he shows this kind of generosity. If only he hadn’t made that fatal mistake. It could have been a fairy tale love story.”
Louisa smiled slowly. Emerging from her daze, she closed the banking app and leaned back on the sofa, gazing at the sparkling ocean outside her window.
As she continued smiling, tears glistened in her eyes. “We’re almost thirty and still believing in fairy tales? Fairy tales are lies.”
Over the phone, Flora laughed. “So what if the fairy tale fell apart? I think you should try for a myth next.”
Sadie didn’t catch on. “What myth?”
Julian, of course, Flora replied.
Louisa fell silent. Julian certainly was mythical in his own way. But that myth was currently unhappy in the hospital.
Julian reclined against his pillows, working on a laptop while Teddy and Bob stood nearby.
Neither dared to speak or even lirathe too loudly in the oppressively trase atmosphere.
Even when Julian merely glanced up, Teddy flinched and quickly offered a

Julian took it and gave him a look. “Why are
re you so nervous?”
Teddy swallowed hard. How could he not be? Although his boss appeared normal, something was clearly off. Julian had been unhappy–very unhappy–since his first night in the hospital.

Chapter 162
After methodically sipping his water, Julian placed the glass on the bedside table and retained his attention to the laptop.
With seeming casualness, he asked, “What about her?”
Her? Which “her“? Teddy caught on first. “Ms. Forbes is fine. She was discharged yesterday afternoon and went to work this morning. I saw her when I went
to the office for your documents. She was working very diligently.“
hly colder.
Before he could finish, the room grew noticeably
Bob inmped in, “Ms. Forbes came the night before last. She seemed to be here to see you, but the room was crowded, so she didn’t come in.
Instead of being pleased, Julian’s expression darkened further. “So she didn’t come in because others were here? How clever of her to avoid suspicion.
Both assistants fell silent, exchanging glances. How did a compliment sound like criticisne coming from their boss’s mouth?
Teddy forced a chuckle. Women are thoughtful, you know? She probably didn’t want to cause you any unnecessary trouble. She was thinking of you.”
Julian fixed him with a stare. “You two share a psychic connection?”
Teddy shut up immediately. No wonder Louisa always felt Julian was criticizing her. At this moment, Teddy silently sympathized with her perspective.
Thankfully, Julian stopped asking about Louisa and returned to his work.
His expression remained neutrall, his emotions seemingly stable as always–yet somehow radiating angel.
When it was time for Julian to rest, Teddy and Bob felt like they’d received a pardon, scurrying out quickly. They needed fresh air–they’d nearly needed
ventilators in there.
In the hallway, they sat on chairs, heads together, whispering.
“I think Mr. Tudor is upset because Ms. Forbes hasn’t visited him,” Bob suggested.
Teddy replied, “You can be more confident–drop the ‘I think.” Being constantly at Julian’s side, he saw things clearly.
Bob nodded. “Should we ask Ms. Forbes to bring him a meal? Create an opportunity for them?”
“Absolutely not! Teddy immediately rejected the idea, remembering the previous food delivery fiasco. “Don’t mention meal delivery again. Let’s
something else.”
Bottom line: Julian rarely showed interest in anyone. The
They couldn’t mess this up–they needed to be clever.

As for Viviana situation, things were developing in a troolding direction.
The man she’d sent to kidnap Lovisa had been caught, but he refused Implicate Vivian, claiming they were just friends and that he couldn’t stand seeing her mistreated, so he took it upon himself to teach Louisa a frasiit.
Vivian played the victim, denying everything and claiming memory loss.
The Price family used their old tactic, producing documentation of her psychological condition to suggest she had mental health issues.

Unlike the previous incident where Louisa had both witnesses and evidence, this time the key witness refused to cooperate.
Taking advantage of this, the Price family arranged for Vivian to be released on medical patele.
Louisa received this news while eating lunch in the company cafeteria. Hearing Sadie’s update, she immediately lost her appetite.
Sadie tried to reassure her, “Don’t worry to
too much. Vivian didn’t just kidnap you this time–she also stabbed Julian. Even if we can’t do anything about her,
Julian surely won’t let her get away with hurting him, right?”
