Chapter 174
George was so infuriated by Julian’s dismissive comment that he nearly flipped the table.
Caden, fearing exactly that, quickly pulled him out of the private room.
Inside, Percy and Saul recognized Julian’s game–he was deliberately provoking George, most likely because of Louisa.
A man who loved both power and beauty, they remarked inwardly. Such men were manageable, driven by desire. It was the men without desires who were
truly dangerous.
Beautiful as Louisa was, the world had never lacked for beautiful women. If Julian had a weakness for beauty, that was something they could work with.
They had plenty of gorgeous women at their disposal, ready to entertain him to his heart’s content.
Saul spoke up, feigning disapproval. “That Mr. Capulet has quite the temper. Please don’t take offense, Mr. Tudor.”
He then signaled to his secretary. “How careless of you–Mr. Tudor’s tea is empty. Bring him a fresh cup.”
Shirley Powell immediately understood her role. The young, attractive secretary wore a tight black miniskirt and a sheer white blouse with several buttons undone, revealing ample cleavage with the slightest bend forward.
She tossed her wavy hair over her shoulder and approached Julian with exaggerated sensuality.
Before she reached him, Julian waved her off casually. “No need. I came to eat, not to drink tea.”
Saul understood immediately: his offering hadn’t interested Julian. Disappointing, but no matter. “Mr. Tudor is right,” he announced. “Let’s eat.”
Everyone at the table finally began using their utensils.
Louisa tried to minimize her presence, eating silently with her head down.
Inwardly, she marveled at Saul’s attempt to “bribe” Julian with his secretary.
He’d miscalculated completely. Her new boss had zero interest in women. Using female charms as leverage was pointless–if anything, they should have
brought in some handsome male escorts.
The mental image of Julian facing a lineup of attractive young men made her lips twitch with suppressed laughter.
Julian noticed. “Ms. Forbes, what’s amusing you now?”
Louisa immediately composed herself, raising innocent eyes to meet his. “I wasn’t laughing.”
Julian sighed and placed a piece of beef on her plate. “Eat more. Your brain needs the nutrients.”
Louisa fell silent. How did Julian always seem to know what she was thinking?
He flicked her forehead lightly. “Silly.”
This Intimate exchange was precisely what George and Caden witnessed as they re–entered the room.

Chapter 174
Caden had finally convinced George to behave reasonably. But seeing Julian and Louisa gazing at each other tenderly sent George over the edge again.
He rushed forward, physically inserting himself between them to break their line of sight.
He glared fiercely at Louisa, then turned to Julian with unmistakable hostility.
Louisa was startled. Was George seriously going to attack Julian?
Everyone in the room tensed. Would George really dare to lay hands on Julian Tudor?
Julian remained unruffled, leaning back comfortably in his chair. “Mr. Capulet, what seems to be the problem now?” he asked with a hint of mockery.
George’s face hardened as he suddenly raised his hand.
Without hesitation, Louisa stood and positioned herself in front of Julian. “George, don’t be stupid!” she warned.
Her instinctive action startled both Julian and George.
A softness entered Julian’s expression while George was nearly apoplectic, his hand frozen in mid–air, his eyes flooding with hurt.
Louisa, his wife, was actually shielding another man. Did she not love him anymore?

Louisa sensed his thought and secretly rolled her eyes.
They’d finalized their divorce just a few days ago, yet George seemed to forget. Was he developing dementia?
George’s heart seemed to bleed while Louisa wondered, ‘Where is all this self–pity coming from?
They communicated silently–one determined to play the victim, the other determined to remain unmoved.
Finally, George lowered his hand. Under everyone’s tense gaze, he picked up his glass and a bottle of liquor from the table.
Julian watched his movements carefully, his eyes cooling as he discreetly pulled Louisa behind him.
But George had no intention of throwing punches.
He filled his glass to the brim and addressed Julian. “Mr. Tudor, you’re right that I haven’t shown proper sincerity. Allow me to drink three glasses as a penalty and to demonstrate my commitment.”
With that, he drained the glass in one gulp, then immediately poured and drank a second, then a third.
Everyone stared in amazement. They had expected George to attack Julian, not to humble himself.
Among Silverlight City’s elite young heirs, George was known for his arrogance. If not for the project’s importance, he likely would have thrown a punch the moment he saw Julian with Louisa.
Caden nodded with relief. His persuasive efforts hadn’t been wasted; George had shown unexpected maturity.
However, as everyone marveled at George lowering his proud head for the company’s sake, they noticed something odd. He had promised three glasses, but half the bottle was already gone.

Chapter 174
Was he just using this as an excuse to drink?
‘Caden, stop him,” Louisa spoke first.
“Yes, yes, don’t let him drink anymore.”
“Take the bottle away, quickly.”
Others joined in as they realized what was happening. But George pushed away anyone who tried to take his glass.
It became clear to everyone: George hadn’t come to apologize. He was here to denounce Julian for stealing his wife.
“Mr. Capulet, certainly you missed your calling as an actor,” Julian remarked coolly. “What a convincing performance of heartbreak.”
George ignored him and continued drinking.
Though Louisa wanted nothing to do with George, she also didn’t want to make headlines again because of him.
She stepped forward to take the bottle from him. “That’s enough. Stop drinking.”
