Chapter 181
Louisa had almost forgotten about it, but hearing Sadie’s question made the memory of that morning flood back.
His lips were soft–softer than a girl’s–with a clean, pleasant scent. Warm and… nice to kiss.
Nice to kiss?
Realizing what she was thinking, Louisa slapped her own face. What on earth was going through her mind?
“What are you thinking about?” Sadie heard the commotion and laughed suggestively.
“Nothing, absolutely nothing,” Louisa immediately denied, her words coming out rapid–fire.
“Doesn’t sound like nothing to me,” Sadie teased.
Louisa fell silent. She needed to change the subject before this conversation went any further. “Why did you call me? Is something
wrong?”
Sadie grew more serious. “After you called me, I tried calling Flora, but she didn’t answer. I even stopped by her place on my way home
today, but no one came to the door.
“I had no choice but to call one of her employees, who said she’s been working overtime at the studio these past few days. They thought
she might be sleeping at home and not hearing her phone.”
She then asked, “Her studio hasn’t been doing well financially, and she rarely works overtime. You don’t think something’s actually
happened, do you?”
Louisa was about to respond when she remembered something.
Earlier tonight, when she was returning with Julian, he’d received a call mentioning Flora’s father, Isaac Young. Isaac apparently wanted to
meet him, but Julian had refused.
“I’m certain the Young Group is in trouble,” Louisa said. “Isaac and William Tudor have been close friends for years. If Isaac had a problem, he’d normally go to William, but he called Julian instead.
“Clearly, William isn’t willing to help him, and neither is Julian, so the Young Group’s problems must be significant.
“As for Flora, try to see her in person. We shouldn’t get involved with the Young Group’s issues, but make sure Flora is okay. We’ll figure
out the rest when I get back from this trip.”
“Got it,” Sadie replied.

After ending the call, Louisa went upstairs to rest. Even as she prepared for bed, she couldn’t shake her worries about Flora.
The next morning, she overslept by ten minutes. With no time to spare, she quickly freshened up and hurried to wake Julian.

As expected, he was still asleep.
After yesterday morning’s awkward episode, Louisa wasn’t feeling quite so “brave” anymore–she didn’t want to risk another embarrassing
situation.
She took out her phone, opened a music app, and selected a song. The melody started soft and slow, then gradually built up in intensity
and tempo.
She’d downloaded it specifically to wake him up.
Placing the phone on his pillow, right next to his ear, she tiptoed out of the room.
Afraid he might turn it off in his sleep and continue sleeping, she didn’t go far–just waited in the living room. Hearing the music still playing, she felt reassured.
Ten minutes later, his bedroom door suddenly opened.
Julian appeared in the doorway wearing dark blue pajamas, her phone in his hand, and an inscrutable expression on his face. “You’re using
this to wake me up?”

“Yes, isn’t it a good method?” Louisa replied. No accidental kissing involved. She was rather proud of herself for coming up with such a
clever solution.
To her surprise, Julian tossed the phone back to her with a curt, “Don’t use it again.”
“If not an alarm, then what?” she asked, perplexed. She’d spent half an hour thinking up this solution.
Julian smiled enigmatically. “Ms. Forbes, touch just below your nose.”
Confused but compliant, Louisa did as he asked–only to find herself touching her lips.
So… he wanted her to use her mouth to wake him?
But…
She touched her lips thoughtfully, her mind drifting as her eyes moved to his mouth.
Noticing her confused yet contemplative expression, Julian’s gaze deepened. “Ms. Forbes, what are you thinking about now?”

“Nothing. I wasn’t thinking about kissing you.” The words tumbled out before she could stop them.
In the next second, the atmosphere in the room shifted. She realized with horror what she’d just said.
She truly hadn’t been thinking about kissing him, but saying it out loud made it seem like she was trying to hide something. The embarrassment was killing her.
Meeting his amused gaze, she noticed his eyes lingering on her lips. Mortified, she attempted to explain, I really wasn’t thinking-*
Julian chuckled softly. “Even if you were, I couldn’t stop you. So go ahead and think about it–I don’t mind.”
Louisa fell silent. What more could she possibly say?
“Alright, go help me pack,” Julian said.
“Okay.” Dejectedly, she went to his bedroom to gather his travel essentials and change of clothes.

She moved through the task in a daze, internally berating herself. Why had she said something so stupid? And why hadn’t she objected to packing his things? That wasn’t part of her job.
She packed sluggishly, and by the time she closed his suitcase, more than half an hour had passed.
Leaving his bedroom, she avoided his gaze and muttered, “I’ve finished packing. Just let me know when you’re ready to leave.”
“Wait.”
“Is there something else, Mr. Tudor?”
She turned to look at him and realized he’d been making breakfast–and had already finished.
“I made plenty. Join me.”
Louisa instinctively glanced at the plates of food. Honestly, she wanted to refuse. After what had just happened, she felt too awkward and embarrassed–she just wanted to escape.
But the aroma of breakfast was enticing: bacon that looked perfectly cooked, lamb chops, and a vibrant salad with several vegetables she didn’t even recognize.
It had to be delicious. She couldn’t help but swallow.
Seeing her expression, Julian remarked dryly, “I’ve made enough for both of us this time.”
Was he referencing how she’d eaten his meal last time?

But his breakfast looked too tempting to pass up..
In the end, the allure of good food won out over her embarrassment. She sat down without hesitation.
The moment she bit into the bacon, she was in heaven–it tasted even better than it looked.
All her discomfort instantly forgotten, she asked between bites, “Mr. Tudor, how did you cook this bacon? It’s amazing. Could you teach
me?”
