“How am I not normal?”

“You’ve been drugged! Your body is generating heat, so of course… you’re not afraid of the cold.”

“You seem to understand my body better than I do.” Julian laughed, exasperated by her logic.

Louisa was nearly in tears. “What do you want? I’m doing this for your own good. If you want to get out, then get out! I give up.”

Julian said nothing, his beautiful eyes shrouded like a misty mountain, gazing at her coldly.

Louisa felt her scalp tingle under his stare. She was already cold, but now she felt even colder.

Suddenly, he flipped their positions, wrapping his arm around her waist and pinning her beneath him. “I think you’re right. If I hold on a bit longer, it will definitely work. Stay with me.”

As he spoke, his arm tightened around her waist, the heat of his palm penetrating her thin clothing and seeping into her skin.
