Chapter 205
Cages wade mede fouise laugh. George, get this straight–the issue isn’t whether she bothers me anymore. It’s that I won’t let her off
Had he lost his mind completely?
George continued, ‘She wasn’t the mastermind behind the kidnapping–just an accomplice, Besides, her health is poor now. She’s already been released on medical parole.
If you write this letter of understanding, with the right handling, she won’t have to go to prison…”
Unable to contain her fury any longer, Louisa slapped him hard across the face.
Her eyes, filled with absolute hatred, bore into him. “You want me to write a letter of understanding? Don’t even dream of it! Even if it kills me, I’ll make sure she serves every day of her sentence!*
George remained standing there. The force of her rage had knocked his face sideways. But he showed no anger.
He turned back to face her and continued, “I don’t understand why you have to be so unforgiving. Wouldn’t it be better to resolve this? Why fight to the bitter end when you’re the one who’ll suffer?
“Are you counting on Julian to avenge you? If he wanted to help, he would have done it already.
“The truth is, he was just playing with you. Now that he’s had you, he won’t waste any more effort on you. Even if you don’t care about your own life, think about your father. Think about your friends.”
Louisa was utterly shocked. Was he actually threatening her with her loved ones? She felt a chill run through her entire body.
She stared at him as if he were some kind of monster. “George, you keep reaching new lows of shamelessness! How can you even say such
things–threatening me with my own family?”
Her teeth chattered, her voice trembled, her whole body shook.
She’d thought his previous underhanded tactics were as low as he could go. She was wrong. There truly was no bottom to his depravity.
George watched her–watched her recoil in horror, watched her look at him with disgust, anger, and helplessness. In that moment, he truly felt the depth of her hatred for him.
Strangely, he found a certain satisfaction in this torment. She should hate him. Let her hate. Sometimes hatred was also a form of
connection.
So be suppressed the pain in his heart and said with difficulty, “You have no choice. Just agree.”

Suddenly, a familiar cool voice came from outside the door, ‘Open wg!”
Louisa’s mind began to blur. Then the door opened, Julian stood in the doorway with Taddy and tooni kehind him

For the first time, Louisa found his commanding tone comforting
She walked toward him with unsteady steps. The crisp pine scent of his cologne calmed her.
Looking at him, all the bleakness, despair, and helplessness in her eyes began to redden with emotion.
Julian raised a hand, cradling half her face, his fingers gently touching the corners of her reddening eyes.
She had never cried before. He had saved her so many times, and not once had she shed a tear.
His palm moved to the back of her head, gently pressing it against his chest. Then he locked eyes with George across the rooms.
His eyes held only coldness, only an icy winter chill. ‘She came to see you out of loyalty to a former colleague. But you exploited that loyalty, had her betrayed, made her cry, drove her to despair and depression. Mr. Capulet, you’ve really outdone yourself!
Every word dripped with utter contempt. George felt a stab of pain in his heart.
The hand he’d extended remained suspended in the air–the hand he’d instinctively reached out with when Louisa had walked toward Julian, but now he could hold onto nothing.
Louisa’s mind was in chaos, the noise around her a blur. She seemed unable to hear clearly, only feeling that the familiar presence before her brought comfort, so much comfort that… she wanted to cry.
Unconsciously, she raised her hands and clutched the sides of his jacket.
Julian looked down at her, one arm around her waist, the other gently stroking her hair, lifting her head. She met his eyes.
“Let’s get you something to eat.”
“I want to eat food made by you, Mr. Tudor.”
Julian’s gaze deepened as he looked at her. He smiled lightly. So you still know how to make requests.”

Chapter 205
Afterward, he took her home, sending Teddy away. He had Teddy apologize to Mr. Wilson on his behalf and cancel some less important
afternoon appointments.
Poor Mr. Wilson–first the venue change, and then being stood up altogether.
Back at Julian’s place in Cozy Community, he was cooking in the kitchen while she sat on the sofa in the living room, hugging a cushion, staring at the river view outside.
Since returning, she hadn’t spoken a word. She sat motionless, the confusion and sadness on her face heart–wrenching.
Naomi called her again. At first, she didn’t answer. The phone kept ringing, like endless words needing to be said.
Finally, she picked up but remained silent.
Naomi was crying on the other end. “I’m so sorry, Ms. Forbes, truly sorry. I didn’t want to betray you–I never wanted that.
“Since I joined the Capulet Group, I’ve followed you. You taught me the business, taught me to stay clear–headed in a world of temptation, taught me to protect myself from clients‘ harassment. I’ve always seen you as my own older sister.
“But it’s been so hard for me. I have parents to care for, a child in preschool, and my husband was recently laid off.
“Mr. Capulet said if I didn’t do as he asked, I could forget about ever getting promoted, that I might not even be able to stay in this industry. I need this job desperately, Ms. Forbes.
‘You’re a woman too–you understand how difficult it is for women in the workplace. So you can forgive me,
