Hazel, who had maintained her position as the Capulet family matriarch for years, was no pushover. She
countered Vivian’s threat with one of her own.
But Vivian remained unfazed, her smile brightening. “Go ahead and tell him, then. If we’re going to die,
we’ll die together. We’ll see who goes first–you or me.”
Hazel backed away several steps, terrified by these chilling words and eerie laughter. Her voice trembled
violently: “Vivian, you’re insane!”
Even through the recording, Louisa and Sadie could feel Hazel’s desperation and fear.
“My dear mother–in–law,” Vivian continued sweetly, “I don’t want to do this either, but you leave me no
choice by not cooperating.
“Think it over carefully. If you don’t listen to me, I’ll have no choice but to make your secrets public.
“Oh, and it’s not just about your pretty boy–I know so many things about you. Your nude photos, those
videos of you with your lover, and those excited moans…
“Hard to imagine a woman in her fifties being so… stimulating.”
“Shut up! Shut up! You lunatic! You devil!” Hazel’s terrified voice came through as a low growl.
Louisa couldn’t stop herself from gagging. Sadie took pity on her and turned off the recording.
“Shocking, right? I had the exact same reaction when I first heard it.”
Louisa was speechless. She took a couple sips of wine to steady herself before she felt somewhat better.
“If I hadn’t heard it myself, I couldn’t have imagined,” Sadie said. “Hazel keeping a boy toy, Dominic having a mistress abroad and an illegitimate child, Vivian faking a pregnancy…
“My God, we don’t need to do anything–they’ll destroy each other. I’d say George’s good days are
numbered.”
Louisa pondered for a moment. “I think George probably already knows all of this.”
“No way,” Sadie said skeptically. “If he knew, would he still agree to marry Vivian?”

“It’s precisely because he knows that he’s weighing the pros and cons,” Louisa replied. “After all, he’s
witnessed firsthand just how unhinged Vivian can be.”

“But didn’t he previously refuse to marry Vivian, even at the cost of breaking ties with the Price Group?”
Sadie asked.
Louisa gave a cold laugh. “Why do you think he opposed the arranged marriage with the Price family? He
was counting on the fact that they wouldn’t truly break ties with him.
“If the project was suspended, the Price Group would lose even more than the Capulets.
“Hasn’t Caden been mediating all along? But now the situation is different. If Vivian continues her rampage, it will trigger a chain reaction.
“Think about it—an illegitimate child entering the family would split the inheritance with George. Do you
really think George doesn’t care about his interests?”
“However…” She paused.
“However what?” Sadie prompted.
“These are just my speculations. Maybe I’m overthinking it. Perhaps George genuinely believed Vivian was pregnant and wanted to keep the child, which is why he compromised,”
Sadie shook her head. “I think your first instinct is correct. Your sharp business acumen isn’t just for show
-I trust your intuition.
“Besides, the child alone isn’t enough reason. Given George’s current level of disgust toward Vivian, he clearly wants nothing to do with her.
“Why would he want her child? He could have a child with anyone. Why choose one from a lunatic?”
Louisa fell silent, unable to be certain either way.
Sadie downed half a glass of wine. “If it’s really like this with everyone in the Capulet family harboring their own schemes, it’s truly a den of vipers.”
“Everyone is in it for the money,” Louisa said. “Self–interest is always the clearest mirror. In front of it, all private desires and ambitions are exposed. You never know what terrifying hearts lie behind those smiling
faces.”

“At least you got out early,” Sadie remarked. “Otherwise you might have been dragged into all these filthy.
affairs.”
Louisa nodded without speaking, frowning thoughtfully
“What are you thinking about?” Sadie asked.
“I just realized there might be a way to get evidence of Vivian’s murder,” Louisa said.
Sadie immediately caught on. “You mean, using Hazel?”
Louisa nodded. “The person who hates Vivian the most right now isn’t us–it’s Hazel. She wishes Vivian
were dead. Since that’s the case, why don’t we give Hazel a little help?”
Sadie smiled. “Using someone else’s knife to kill, huh? Louisa, you’re quite devious.”
Early the next morning, Hazel received an anonymous package containing a personal file.
She murmured the boy’s name in confusion: “Mark Warner…”
The file didn’t contain much information–just his photo, the school he attended, when he went missing,
and when he was killed.
Hazel was stunned. This boy had been killed by Vivian.
She nearly cried out in shock, her heart racing wildly. She recalled Vivian’s threat from the night before- that if she didn’t obey, Vivian would kill her. Vivian truly was capable of murder.
Hazel began to tremble. She reached for the water glass on the table to calm herself, but her hands shook so badly she couldn’t hold it steady.
The glass fell to the floor, and the shattered pieces cuter foot.
A servant rushed in at the sound. “Mrs. Capulet, what happened?”
“Nothing. Leave me.” Seeing her disturbed expression, the servant didn’t dare ask further and quickly left.
Hazel forced herself to calm down and picked up the fi again with trembling hands.
Learning that Vivian had killed someone was horrifying enough, but what confused her more was who had

sent her this information, and why?
Perhaps it was Mark’s friend or family member? Someone who knew about the upcoming Capulet–Price
alliance and deliberately sent this to expose a scandal?

After much consideration, this seemed like the only possibility. But regardless of the sender’s intention, knowing this information made her smile darkly, even with excitement.
God himself was helping her.
Vivian, that demon, had to be eliminated. Otherwise, both she and George would be finished.
With this in mind, she immediately looked up the address and phone number on the shipping label and
sent a message to the sender…
Little did she know, Louisa was waiting for her to take the bait.
At that moment, Louisa had just left her apartment and was waiting for the elevator. She received Hazel’s message and lowered her head to reply.
When the elevator doors opened, she walked in without looking up. Just as she was about to press the
button, someone else entered.
