Chapter 238
It was Julian and Teddy.

Meeting Julian’s cool, handsome eyes, Louisa’s heart began to race involuntarily. Her mind flashed back to yesterday morning when he kissed her, and last night when he had her pinned against the wall, whispering
in her ear.
Her face grew hot again.
To hide her feelings, she quickly put away her phone and pretended nothing had happened. “Good
morning, Mr. Tudor. Good morning, Teddy.”
“Morning,” Julian replied coldly, showing no interest in further conversation.
Louisa fell silent too. If he didn’t want to talk, fine. She wouldn’t talk to him either.
Beside them, Teddy felt the charged atmosphere and internal pressure radiating from both of them. Why
did he have to get caught in their lovers‘ quarrel?
But Louisa seemed to be in a good mood, relaxed and even humming a tune.
Teddy couldn’t help asking, “Something good happen today?”
“Yes,” Louisa flashed him a brilliant smile. “Good weather makes for a good mood.”
Teddy thought to himself: ‘Your good mood seems to be Julian’s bad mood.”
He’d noticed a pattern–when Louisa was cheerful, his boss was irritated. When Julian was happy, Louisa was gloomy. He wondered why these two could never be on the same emotional wavelength.
The elevator reached the first floor and the doors opened. As Louisa walked out, Teddy called after her, “We
haven’t reached the parking level yet. Aren’t you getting your car?”
“My car isn’t in the garage–it’s at the office,” Louisa replied. Last night she’d gone with Julian to the blind date and returned in his car, leaving hers at the company.
“Then come with us,” Teddy offered. The drive might give them a chance to smooth things over.
“No need to trouble yourselves,” Louisa refused without hesitation.

She glanced at Julian, who maintained his cold expression. The words on the tip of her tongue died away as
she turned back to Teddy. “I’m off. Bye.”
“…Bye.” At that moment, Teddy didn’t dare look in his boss’s direction.
The pressure in the elevator dropped even lower, with a gloomy shadow hanging over Julian’s features. She
would talk to Teddy but not to him?
Meanwhile, Louisa exited the complex. During the morning rush hour, getting a taxi wasn’t easy. She
ordered a ride–share that would take ten minutes to arrive.
Just then, her phone rang. It was an alarm–the one Julian had set to remind her to eat breakfast.
She grumbled to herself. So annoying. She didn’t have a habit of eating breakfast, but since the alarm had
reminded her, she walked to a nearby breakfast shop and bought a hamburger and milk.
As she continued waiting, a flashy blue sports car pulled up before her ride–share arrived.

The window rolled down, revealing George’s face. He was on his way to work and hadn’t expected to see
her.
His eyes lit up with involuntary delight. “Why are you standing here? Where are you headed? I’ll give you a
ride.”
“No thanks,” Louisa refused without hesitation.
George looked hurt but didn’t give up. He got out of the car and approached her. “It’s hard to get a ride in
the morning rush. Let me take you.”
“I said, no thank you.” Louisa’s tone grew more severe. She had been in a good mood because Hazel had taken the bait, but George’s appearance had ruined it completely.
People around them occasionally glanced their way. George didn’t want to create a scene and grabbed her
arm firmly, “Come with me. We can talk in the car.”
Louisa didn’t want him touching her and tried hard to all her arm free, but he refused to let go.
She looked at him coldly. “George, have you forgotten your promise? I wrote the letter of forgiveness you wanted. You said you wouldn’t bother me for the rest of your life. Are you going back on your word now?”
George’s wounded expression deepened. Seeing her disgust, how she wanted nothing more than to get

away from him–his eyes reddened slightly.
Like someone with nothing left to lose, he said, “Yes, I regret it.”
Louisa was so angry she wanted to smash his head.
Finally, she laughed bitterly and nodded. “Fine. You’ve never kept your word anyway. I shouldn’t have expected anything from you. Do whatever you want. Now, get lost.”
She didn’t want to say another word to him or even look at him. She simply moved away to stand
elsewhere.

George saw her disgust. They’d only been divorced for a few days–had she really lost all feelings for him? He thought about the blog post she had published, and the one Julian had published.
Jealousy made his eyes burn red. “I bet you’re with Julian now, and that’s why you’re so eager for me to leave you alone. How far have you two gone? Have you slept with him? Do you really think his family will accept you? He’s just playing with you–he’ll never take responsibility for you.”
Had George gone mad? How did he manage to connect everything she said back to Julian?
Louisa was about to curse at him when footsteps approached from nearby, along with a familiar voice: “Mr. Capulet, are you speaking for all men in the world? How do you know I won’t take responsibility?”
It was Julian. Louisa turned and met his gaze.
He said calmly, “Get in the car.”
“You…” Could he handle this alone? Louisa hesitated. She knew George’s temperament–he was quick to resort to violence when provoked. She was afraid Georg might attack Julian.
“It’s fine, Julian assured her. “Wait in the car. I’ll handle this.”
Louisa wanted to say more, but then she saw Teddy and Noah getting out of the car. She knew their fighting skills. Besides, she really didn’t want to face George,
She nodded. “Alright,” and went to wait in Julian’s car.
After watching her close the car door, Julian turned to George. George’s eyes were bloodshot as he glared at
Julian.
Julian remained calm and unhurried, though the trace of warmth in his eyes had vanished, replaced by an
