“We don’t need your protection,” he said, glaring at Noah. “I can protect my sister and Louisa myself.”

Noah wasn’t offended. He just shoved his hands in his pockets, looking effortlessly cool. “Fine. You protect them, and I’ll protect

everyone.”

Jacob wanted to argue further, but Louisa cut in: “That works. Thanks for your help.”

After all, Noah was skilled at fighting, tracking, driving at high speeds, and picking locks. Having him along definitely made them safer.

Louisa’s only rule: Noah wasn’t allowed to drive. The guy was terrifying behind the wheel.

On the red, Jacob drove with Noah in the passenger seat. Louisa and Sadie sat in the back.
