Chapter 260
Louisa reluctantly walked over to him.
She expected him to tease her again. Instead, he simply took her hand and placed a bunch of freshly washed, glistening grapes in her
palm.

Louisa looked up at him. He patted her head. “Go ahead, but be careful. The countryside has plenty of snakes, bugs, and rodents.”
…I know,” Louisa replied. Why was he acting like a parent? She wasn’t a child. But despite her complaints, his deep, gentle voice lingered in her ears, and she could barely bring herself to meet his eyes. Her heart felt oddly sweet. She’d fallen under Julian’s spell again without
meaning to.
She quickly hurried after Sadie.
Sadie leaned in close to her ear. “If we hadn’t climbed that tree today, I wouldn’t have realized how spoiled Julian’s made you.”
Louisa glared at her. “What are you talking about? When did I ever… need him to spoil me?”
Sadie reminded her, “Have you forgotten when George locked you in that house and you set it on fire to escape? Back then you were fearless. That second–floor jump was what–thirteen, sixteen feet? You weren’t afraid of breaking your legs then. Today you were scared to jump from a tree that was maybe six feet high.”
She put her arm around Louisa’s shoulders and winked suggestively. “Keep denying it if you want, but Julian’s pretty great. Let’s see how long you can hold out.”
“Stop talking,” Louisa cut her off.
Julian was indeed great. So great that sometimes she felt ashamed. She’d been too cruel to him. But she was afraid… that kind of pain once in a lifetime was enough.
With these thoughts, she quickened her pace, wanting to escape his presence as quickly as possible. However, just as she was about to exit the farmhouse gate, Julian’s voice rang out behind her: “Wait.”
Louisa and Sadie both stopped in their tracks.
Julian walked up to them, his eyes fixed on Louisa, his tone casual. “I just realized I have nothing better to do. Why don’t I join you all for this visit to your friend’s house?”
Louisa said nothing. Everyone fell silent. How much free time did the CEO of the Tudor Group actually have? But Louisa knew that once Julian made up his mind, no one could change it. Whatever, let him do what he wants.
Becky nervously stole a glance at Julian and tugged at Sadie’s sleeve. “Sadie, does this Julian know about… our situation?”

Chapter 260
She was intimidated by his handsome but commanding presence, especially those eyes that seemed to see right through people.
Sadie patted her hand. “Don’t worry, he doesn’t know anything. He’s probably just bored. Don’t be scared.”
“But…” Becky still felt uneasy.
Sadie shrugged. “If you don’t want him to come, you can tell him yourself.”
Becky shook her head immediately. “Never mind, let him come.”
Julian’s meaningful gaze swept over Sadie and Becky, his eyes cool and assessing. Becky flinched again, hiding behind Sadie.
Louisa noticed and tugged at Julian’s sleeve, whispering, “Don’t scare her.”
“Fine, as you wish,” Julian replied, his voice softening as he spoke to Louisa. He took her hand in his.
Louisa tried
to
pull away but couldn’t free herself, so she gave up and let it be.
After leaving the farmhouse, Becky led the way. Julian and Louisa walked behind her, with Sadie and Jacob following, and Noah bringing
up the rear.
Jacob tried to push forward–he wanted to walk with Louisa–but Sadie pulled him back.
Jacob was annoyed and whispered in Sadie’s ear, “What are you doing? Can’t you see that guy has ulterior motives with Louisa?”
Sadie laughed. “My dear brother, congratulations on finally noticing. That wasn’t easy.”
“Aren’t you going to help Louisa?” Jacob asked.
Sadie smirked. “And help you in the process, right?”
Jacob blushed, speechless.
Noah, walking at the back with his hands in his pockets, coolly told Jacob, “This path is too narrow for three people. Give it up, man. You can’t win.” In looks, you can’t compete. In physique, you can’t compete. In wealth, you can’t compete. In cunning, you still can’t compete. How could you possibly challenge my boss?
Louisa overheard their conversation and tried again to free her hand from Julian’s grip. In her distraction, she stepped on a stone and slipped. Julian quickly wrapped an arm around her waist, preventing her fall.
He laughed softly in her ear, “This path is too crowded for three, too dangerous for one, but just right for two. Don’t you think?”

Chapter 260
ค. 05
Louisa was speechless. Hearing the laughter behind them, her cheeks flushed, and she gave Julian’s arm an annoyed swat. Julian smoothly
captured her hand again.
Soon, Becky brought them to their destination–an old villa. Unlike the clean farmhouse they’d just left, this place was messy and appeared neglected for some time.
“This is my uncle’s house,” Becky explained. “My grandmother lives with him.” She led everyone inside.
An elderly woman sat in the courtyard washing vegetables. When she saw Becky, her face lit up. “Becky, is that you?”
“Yes, Grandma,” Becky answered.
The old woman noticed the group behind her and warmly said, “You’ve brought friends! Everyone come in, please.”
“Sorry for the trouble,” Louisa said politely.
“No trouble at all! Come in, come in,” the old woman insisted, ushering everyone inside.
The sitting area consisted of a square wooden table surrounded by four long benches, each able to seat about two people. Since they had quite a group, everyone waited for Julian to sit first.
Julian casually took a seat on one of the benches. Only then did the others sit down. Noah sat beside Sadie. Becky sat alone, saving the spot beside her for her grandmother.
That left Louisa and Jacob. Louisa naturally wouldn’t choose to sit with Julian. Jacob was about to call her over when Julian reached out and pulled Louisa down beside him.
Louisa looked at him with disbelief. Had Julian completely abandoned all restraint?
