By now, darkness had fallen. The country roads had few streetlights, and a strong wind had picked up, followed quickly by a downpour. Outside the car, everything was gloomy with poor visibility. All they could hear was the heavy sound of rain hammering against the

windows.

Louisa told Noah to pull over to the side of the road.

Just then, a red Ferrari sped past them from behind. Its color was startlingly bright even in the darkness.

Sadie recognized it instantly. “That’s Vivian’s car.”

Louisa said nothing, but her eyes darkened.

At the mention of Vivian’s name, Becky visibly tensed, her eyes filling with fear. “Sadie, you know Vivian?”

Sadie and Louisa exchanged a glance, and Louisa nodded.

“We might as well be honest with you now,” Sadie told Becky. “I’m not Mark’s cousin. We’re victims just like you–hurt by Vivian. We came

here to find evidence of her murder.”

Shock filled Becky’s eyes, but she quickly accepted this revelation. Looking at the car ahead, its blood–red color reminded her of that bloody scene from years ago. Becky gritted her teeth, her voice turning cold. “Good. Then let’s catch her together and bring her to justice.”

Neither Sadie nor Louisa responded.

The rain began to ease up. Noah had been following Vivian’s car closely–speeding up when she did, slowing when she did. Now that the rain was lighter, Vivian accelerated, and Noah matched her pace.

“She seems to be heading the same way we are,” he observed. “Looks like we’re on the right track with this third location.”

An eerie silence filled the car.

Suddenly, Louisa’s phone vibrated. It was a message from Hazel: [Found it. Lily has an old house in rural Virella Highlands that had been abandoned. A few years ago, she suddenly decided to renovate it and bought a large piece of land to build an orchard.]

She also sent the location of the old house. Louisa read it but didn’t reply.

Meanwhile, on the highway, a blue Lamborghini raced through the rainy night. Hazel and George sat in the back seat.

George noticed his mother’s anxious expression. “Mom, you still haven’t told me why we’re going to Virella Highlands so late.”

“Don’t ask now,” Hazel said. “You’ll find out soon enough. After tonight, we might all be free, and our family can get back on track.”

George thought for a moment but didn’t press further. “Okay.”

Seeing his expression, Hazel stroked his head affectionately. She needed to witness Vivian’s arrest with her own eyes. Only then could she

truly feel at peace.

Back with Louisa’s group, their car followed Vivian’s to their destination–which was indeed the third location they’d been planning to

visit.

The red sports car drove into the old house’s grounds. Noah parked their car in a hidden spot where they could still observe the house.

From a distance, they watched as Vivian and her mother Lily got out of the car, accompanied by a driver and a bodyguard. Vivian’s face was dark with anger. Lily nervously glanced around, as if afraid someone might be watching. Then they went inside and didn’t come back

out.

Sitting in the car, Louisa felt stuffy and was about to roll down the window when Becky pulled some mint candies from her bag.

She popped one in her mouth, then offered them to everyone else. “Want one?”

Louisa took one first, then the others each took one as well. Becky watched them all eat the candies, then lowered her gaze.

Not long after, Vivian and Lily emerged from the house. Lily instructed the bodyguard to take a duffel bag from the trunk, then led Vivian

toward the adjacent orchard.

The orchard was truly enormous. Louisa’s group followed behind Lily for a good ten minutes and still hadn’t reached their destination. After another five or six minutes, Lily and Vivian finally stopped in front of a large pond with a small hill beside it. Summer wildflowers and grass grew abundantly around them. Near the pond stood a freshly painted white cottage surrounded by fruit trees…

The scene matched Vivian’s description perfectly.

On Lily’s orders, the bodyguard began digging with a shovel… They weren’t digging for just anything–they were digging for a body.

It was impossible not to feel tense. Sweat covered Louisa’s palms. Sadie gripped her phone tightly, recording the scene.

As the digging went deeper and they were about to capture crucial evidence, a voice suddenly came from behind them: “Why aren’t you all

unconscious yet?”

The voice wasn’t loud, but it was clear enough to jolt everyone’s nerves.

Lily, the most nervous of all, immediately spun around. “Who’s there? Who’s speaking?”

Louisa’s group turned in shock to see who had spoken. They watched as Becky slowly removed her mask.

The scar on her face cast an even more terrifying shadow in the night light. Her expression blank, she looked at Louisa’s group. “I’m

sorry.”

Louisa tried to speak, but her vision blurred, and she collapsed. Sadie and Jacob followed, both losing consciousness.

Noah managed to gasp, “The mint candies… they were drugged…” His strong willpower allowed him to finish his line before he too passed

out.

Vivian and Lily walked over, seeing the people sprawled on the ground. And Becky.

Vivian’s smile was both sinister and excited. “Becky, it’s been years. I see you’re still as despicable as ever, willing to do anything for your

own sake. You haven’t disappointed me.”

Becky smiled too. The scar on her face looked even more grotesque with her grin. She looked at Vivian. “You said if I could lure them here, you’d grant all my requests.”
