Louisa glared at him coldly. “What do you want? Get out!”

He stared her down as he strode into her room, closing the door behind him.

Louisa could only back away, watching him warily while her mind raced. Sadie wasn’t here–she must have gone for breakfast. It would be at least half an

hour before she returned.

In that time, whatever George intended to do, he’d likely succeed. She couldn’t just wait for the worst. She needed help.

Her phone was on the bed. If she could just reach it, she could call Sadie, or Julian, or even the police.

But first, she needed to keep George distracted.

Forced to retreat under his advance, she eyed him cautiously. “George, what do you want?”

By now, he had entered her bedroom. Seeing no sign of Julian, his expression relaxed slightly.

Louisa seized the opportunity to reach for her phone.
