Louna felt the weight of everyone’s stares–some admiring, some hostile, and Teresa’s gaze burning with jealousy.

Inwardly, Loisa felt frustrated Did they think Julian was complimenting her? No After spending time with him, she understood his tone well enough to know this wasn’t praise but subtle criticism for meddling in others business.
She was working hard and bringing profit to his company–wasn’t that good? Why was he publicly making her a target for resentment?
Her eyes held a hint of reproach as she looked at Julian, though she carefully kept it hidden. She could only accept his words as praise, forcing a smile. As a member of the company, helping each other and working for the company’s benefit is only natural. You’re giving me too much credit.”
A faint smile flickered in Julian’s eyes, carrying an unmistakable fondness.
Beside them, Teresa watched their interaction, her eyes reddening with jealousy. Were they really flirting in front of everyone? What did that make everyone else–just props in their little game?
Julian continued by asking other team leaders about their projects. Seeing she wasn’t needed, Louisa began to drift off again.
The other team leaders, seasoned professionals all, could tell Julian had come specifically for Louisa. So when Julian questioned them, they all credited Louisa for their successes, hoping to curry favor.
Unexpectedly, Julian suddenly lost his temper. He slammed his palm on the table, glaring at those with ulterior motives. “If you’re handing all your difficult problems to someone else, what use are you?”
The sudden anger startled everyone present, especially the three who had been singled out–Ben Smith from Team Four, Tony Rivera from Team Five, and Joe Robinson from Team Six. Under the force of Julian’s presence, they nearly needed respirators.
Even Louisa was surprised. In her memory, this was the first time she’d seen Julian angry. She’d heard he’d been furious about the Aurora Media Group incident, but she hadn’t witnessed it firsthand.
Now she was seeing it for the first time. It was genuinely terrifying.
In an instant, the entire conference room was engulfed in an atmosphere of fear. No one dared to breathe, afraid they would be next. The three team leaders looked desperately at Teresa, hoping she would intercede for them.
Teresa knew that as Investment Director, she needed to defend her team, earning some goodwill from these veterans. She composed herself, putting on a calm, gentle smile. ‘Mr. Tudor, our department’s performance is improving. That’s good thing. Why are you so angry?”
Julian tempered his anger slightly, giving Teresa a cold look. ‘Yes, performance is up, but what does that have to do with you as director? While your subordinates were working hard, what were you doing?”
Teresa’s face turned ashen. She couldn’t believe Julian would embarrass her in front of everyone.
True, she knew about Ben, Tony, and Joe’s secret plan to use Louisa and then discard her. Teresa had remained silent, hoping to use others to drive Louisa out of Tudor Group. But these thoughts had remained private–she hadn’t shared hem with anyone
Julian’s words clearly showed he knew her intentions and was warning her. Now he understood–Julian hadn’t come to hold a meeting but to support Louisa and clear obstacles for her.
Did the entire department’s performance matter less to him than a single Louisa
Jealousy made Teresa lose her composure. Her eyes reddened as she faced Julian Yes, I don’t have Louisa’s tactics or abilities! But she suddenly interfered

with everyone’s projects for her own purposes, causing anxiety throughout the department.
“Why don’t you mention that? Why don’t you reprimand her?”
Her words successfully plunged the conference room into deathly silence.
Only Teresa would dare to openly challenge Julian like this.

Louisa was inwardly devastated. She wasn’t doing this for bonuses, promotions, of any personal goal–she just wanted to work well and benefit Tudor Group.
What had she done wrong? Why target her?
Teddy gave Teresa an exasperated look. How foolish.
Julian regarded Teresa coldly, his last shred of patience gone. His voice was ice.eresa, are you trying to tell me how to do my job?”
Teresa opened her mouth to speak.
But Julian had no interest in hearing more. “You lack the ability to expand markets, the courage to stabilize your team, and even basic tolerance. No talent,
no virtue. Effective immediately, you’re demoted to Deputy Director.”
These words shocked everyone present.
What was happening? The department’s overall performance was up–shouldn’t Jian be rewarding them? True, Teresa hadn’t done anything worthy of
praise, but demotion seemed excessive.
No one felt much sympathy for Teresa, though. Compared to her, they were more concerned about themselves. If the director was demoted, they were in
even greater danger…
Simultaneously, everyone looked toward Louisa. In this situation, only she could save them.
Louisa wanted to play dead. Who could influence Julian’s decisions? If Teresa’s words had no effect, what could she, a mere Deputy Director, accomplish?
She just wanted to work well, not get involved in these matters.
But then she realized–today’s situation was her doing. If she hadn’t suddenly interfered with everyone’s projects, this wouldn’t be happening.
Fine, she would take the risk and try. Success or failure, at least she would have done her best.
Under everyone’s expectant gaze, she reluctantly met Julian’s eyes. “Mr. Tudor, I should take some responsibility for today’s situation. I interfered with everyone’s projects. If someone needs to be punished, it should be me alone.”
