Nicholas paused, his tone growing serious. “Did you know my aunt arrived at Virella Highlands a week ago?”

“I know. We saw her outside the police station that day,” Julian replied.

“Today, she’s already in Silverlight City. And not just her–Gareth’s here too. I just got the news.” His eyes took on an icy gleam as he

spoke.

Louisa stayed quiet, but as she listened, she couldn’t help remembering the woman they’d encountered outside the police station a week ago. That seductive, alluring woman probably wasn’t someone easy to deal with. Was she going to help Vivian escape again?

Nicholas sipped his tea, speaking slowly but with chilling intensity. “Have you heard of JM?”

“Of course,” Julian said. “A business association that’s practically a cult.”

“Lorelei Wolfe is a member. Her condition for helping the Price family was to have Caden accept her recommendation to join the

association. She also wanted Caden to convince George to join.”

Julian gave a cold laugh. “She’s quite greedy.”

Nicholas, sitting across from her, noticed. “Louisa, you look like you want to say something. Go ahead, don’t hold back.”

Louisa hesitated, glancing at Nicholas, then finally at Julian. Jullan watched her too. The room fell silent as they waited for her to speak.

After thinking it over, she addressed Julian. “The hatred between Vivian and me has already gone this far. I’m not afraid of them–worst case, we both go down. You shouldn’t get involved anymore.”

Louisa couldn’t hear what William said. Julian only replied, “I understand,” before hanging up.

He looked at Louisa and Nicholas. “Let’s eat somewhere else. My dad and Gareth are also at this restaurant today. He wants us to join

them.”

Nicholas’s expression darkened. Their pleasant gathering had been ruined by that old bastard Gareth. He was not happy about it.

But he knew that refusing to go would only create problems. So he nodded. “Okay.”
