After the Affair Falling into a Billionaire's Arms novel Chapter 320

Chapter 320

Louisa couldn’t escape his intense gaze. Her face burned applered as her silky hair fell across her rising and falling chest.

Julian pulled her boneless body into his arms, letting her rest on his bicep. He gently stroked her cheek and smoothed her tousled hair,

tucking her face against his chest. Did I hurt you?he asked, his voice deep and raspy against her ear.

A little,she admitted.

She seriously wondered if Julian had ever had sex before. Was this his first time? He’d been absolutely relentless.

Hearing the slight tremor in her voice, Julian felt a pang of guilt. His lips brushed her ear as he whispered, I’m sorry I hurt you. I don’t

have anything here, but I can have someone bring over some medicine.

Absolutely not!she responded without hesitation. Having someone deliver postsex medicine? How mortifying.

Julian chuckled softly. Silly girl, what are you afraid of? Get some sleep.

Okay,Louisa closed her eyes. She was completely exhausted.

His embrace was warm and secure. She wanted to sleep, but couldn’t. This whole situation felt too much like they were actual lovers.

She couldn’t let this develop any further. They had no future togethershe couldn’t allow herself to fall any deeper.

Listening to Julian’s soft breathing beside her, he appeared to be asleep. Carefully, she removed his arm from around her waist and slipped out of bed. Her legs were still shaky, barely supporting her weight. She managed to find her nightgown on the floor and put it on.

Before leaving, she glanced back. His body bore scratch marks and hickeys. Had she really been that wild last night? She felt a twinge of guilt, but why should she? He’d said she didn’t need to take responsibility. She had nothing to feel bad about.

With that thought, she decisively left his room.

At that same moment, Julian opened his eyes. He sighed resignedlyLouisa really was determined not to be accountable to him. Well, he’d

take it slow. She couldn’t escape him forever.

Meanwhile, Louisa rushed back to her apartment, feeling like a guilty thief. She even forgot to bring Satan with her.

Standing in front of her bathroom mirror, she removed the nightgown and stared at the trail of marks covering her body. She fell into a

long silence. Last night had been beyond intense.

She turned on the shower and washed away the stickiness from her skin. After getting dressed for work, she noticed the shopping bag in the living room. The toy she’d bought just yesterday had become completely unnecessary after last night.

Chapter 320

Money down the drain. She took it to her walk in closet and burled it in the deepest, most hidden drawer.

On her way out, she realized her phone was missing. After searching everywhere, she remembered it was still at Julian’s Should she go get it? She hesitated. Running into Julian would be unbearably awkward. Hetter not. She d sneak back at lunch when he wasn’t home. She knew his door code.

For now, if anyone called her this morning, she’d just have to be unreachable.

She left without her phone, but hadn’t been at the office long when Marlee entered her office with a phone in hand. Ms. Forbes, Mr. Young is calling for you.”

Louisa was puzzled. What could Teddy want so early? She took the phone. Teddy, what’s up?

Abandoning your phone? Julian’s voice responded.

Louisa startled. Did Mr. Tudor bring it over for me?

Yes,Julian replied flatly.

I’ll come up and get it,she said, then returned the phone to Marlee.

Marlee, who had overheard the conversation, leaned in with curious, suggestive eyes. Ms. Forbes, that wasn’t Mr. Young, it was Mr. Tudor? What were you talking about? Is there something?

Absolutely nothing,Louisa cut her off sharply, pushing Marlee’s face away before walking out.

Marlee smiled knowingly. There was no need to ask. When Louisa had walked into the department earlier, she might have looked normal to most, but anyone paying attention could see her state.

She had the glow of someone cherished and adoredlike someone in the throes of new love, practically radiating pink bubbles. Only

Louisa herself hadn’t noticed.

On her way out, she ran into Teresa, whose hostile gaze immediately locked onto her. Ms. Forbes, you just got here and you’re already

leaving? Where to?

Bathroom, Louisa replied dismissively.

Her casual answer landed like a challenge in Teresa’s ears. There’s a meeting in ten minutes. Don’t be late, Ms. Forbes, she said, her tone

even icier.

Louisa ignored her and headed toward the elevator. She went up to the 36th floor, feeling nervous about facing Julian so soon after last night. She wanted to pretend nothing had happened. Maybe she could ask Teddy to retrieve her phone?

Just then, Teddy emerged from Julian’s office. Louisa, you’re here!he called cheerfully.

Louisa inwardly groaned. No escape now.

Teddy approached her with a puzzled expression. What’s wrong with you? You look like you’re walking to your execution. Did something

happen?

Nothing happened,Louisa insisted.

Teddy muttered under his breath, You say nothing’s wrong, the boss says nothing’s wrong, but you both look like something’s definitely

wrong.

Louisa’s internal alarm blared. She pulled Teddy aside and lowered her voice. Is he acting strange?

Seeing they were alone, Teddy whispered back, You wouldn’t believe it. This morning Bob was acting crazy, serving our boss all kinds of

foods meant to boost male performance.

Louisa fell silent. She shouldn’t have asked.

She pushed past Teddy and headed for Julian’s office. She knocked.

Come in,Julian’s cool voice called from inside.

Louisa took a deep breath. From his tone, he probably wanted to pretend nothing had happened too. Perfect.

She entered to find Julian working at his desk. A black insulated container sat on the table, but her phone was nowhere in sight.

Louisa stood in front of his desk, maintaining her distance. Mr. Tudor, I came for my phone.

Julian looked up at her.

He said nothing, just held her gaze, and somehow the atmosphere shifted. The air between them grew thick with unspoken tension.

Louisa avoided his eyes. My phone, she repeated.

Julian pulled her phone from his pocket and held it out.

As Louisa reached for it, her fingers accidentally brushed against his hand. Her face flushed hot as she quickly grabbed the phone and

shoved it into her pocket.

Julian’s lips curved into a halfsmile. Why so nervous?

I’m not nervous,she lied.

Julian nodded.
