The door opened soon after. It was Julian.

When he saw Louisa, a smile softened his cool demeanor. “What’s wrong? Can’t sleep?” he asked softly.

“You’re one to talk,” Louisa replied. “Satan’s been barking non–stop. How am I supposed to sleep? What did you do to him?”

“What could I possibly have done?” Julian shrugged.

Right on cue, Satan trotted over from the balcony, grabbing the edge of Julian’s robe with his teeth and tugging toward the balcony. Julian

shot Louisa a look that clearly said: ‘See? He’s the one who wants to play. Not my fault.‘

Louisa sighed in frustration and followed them to the balcony, closing the door behind her.

Apparently, Julian had spontaneously decided to play with the dog, and Satan had gotten overexcited, now bouncing around like a furry

pinball. The open balcony had railings only about three feet high, cluttered with potted plants–some with thorns, no less.

“Letting him play like this is dangerous!” Louisa watched nervously. “What if he falls? Is this how you treat your beloved’s precious pet?*

Julian shook his head. “Look at how nimble he is. He won’t fall. And what’s this about ‘my beloved’s pet‘?”

“Isn’t Nicholas your beloved? And isn’t Satan his precious pet?”

Julian laughed and pulled her into his arms. “My beloved is only my girlfriend,” he said, looking down at her.

Louisa blushed at the word “girlfriend,” her cheeks betraying her emotions.

Julian tightened his embrace around her waist and leaned down to kiss her lips. “The soundproofing here is excellent. Satan isn’t that

loud. He couldn’t possibly be what’s keeping you awake, could he?”

‘I’m a light sleeper, okay?” Louisa defended herself.

Julian chuckled. “You? A light sleeper? When you’re out, you snore like a little bear,”

“You’re lying again,” she protested. Her sleep truly was fragile. Especially after discovering George’s affair, when depression kept her awake

night after night.

Julian continued kissing her between words. “If you don’t believe me, that’s fine. But since you can’t sleep at home, why not try

somewhere else?”

Louisa’s instinct was to refuse, but being held in his arms felt so good, so secure. She was enchanted.

Chapter 326

Julian sensed her yielding and deepened the kiss. Their tongues intertwined, and Louisa’s body began to melt against him.

Julian lifted her up and carried her toward the bedroom. Louisa didn’t resist, resting limply in his embrace.

Satan grew frustrated, tugging at Julian’s clothes to stop him. Julian glanced down at the dog. Go play by yourself.”

Satan protested with a bark. So he was just a tool to lure Julian’s girlfriend over, huh? The dog gave Julian a wounded look before

reluctantly letting go.

Inside the bedroom, Julian placed Louisa on his bed. He lay beside her, pulled the covers over them, and drew her into his arms.

Louisa found it strange–she couldn’t sleep at home, yet here in his room, she felt oddly secure. Sleep began to overtake her, but physical

discomfort made her shift restlessly in his arms.

“What’s wrong?” Julian asked. “Did I tire you out too much last night? Are you sore?”

She mumbled a sleepy affirmation.

Julian freed one hand to massage her tender waist, applying just the right pressure. Before she knew it, Louisa was fast asleep.

Julian watched her peaceful slumber, his eyes filled with tenderness. He bent down to place a gentle kiss on her brow.

Louisa slept for over ten hours straight. Julian hadn’t lied–her sleep quality truly was exceptional when she was with him. She just didn’t

know it yet.

When consciousness returned, Louisa felt something tickling her face. Someone was kissing her.

Still disoriented from suddenly waking up in Julian’s bed, she instinctively reached out, her hand finding firm, sculpted abs. The sensation was so pleasing she couldn’t help but explore further.

Julian kissed her ear and laughed softly. “Compared to younger men’s muscles, whose feel better?”

His morning voice was deep and raspy, carrying a lethal charm.

Still half–asleep and tingling from his voice, Louisa mumbled, “I wouldn’t know. Never felt theirs.”

“So you’re saying you’d like to feel their muscles too, for comparison?” His tone carried a dangerous chill.

Louisa snapped fully awake. Opening her eyes to his handsome face, she stammered, “J–Julian? What are you doing here?”

Julian laughed coolly. “Did sleep erase your memory? Don’t you remember what happened last night?”

Chapter 326

“What happened last night?” Louisa struggled to remember, her mind foggy as she sat dazed on the bed.

Julian sat up too, moving closer. “Would you like me to help you remember?”

His voice by her ear startled her again, making her turn suddenly. Accidentally, her lips brushed against his.

Louisa froze. Her face burned, her heart racing wildly.

“S–sorry,” she said, attempting to push him away.

But Julian was quicker, pulling her back into his arms. In the confusion, Louisa inadvertently touched the hard bulge between his legs.

For a moment, they both felt electrified.

Julian kissed her lips, his voice hoarse with desire. “Louisa, you can’t just light the fuse without letting it explode.”

Louisa blushed deeply, lowering her head, unable to meet his gaze.

Fighting his physical desire, Julian asked in a whisper, “Let’s do it. Just once. Okay?”
