er the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire’s Arms.
Chapter 397
Julian had reached his limit. Without considering how much force he used he yanked Teresa off Louisa and flung her aside.
Teresa landed hard on a chair, the impact sending sharp pain through her backside.
She looked at Julian with wounded eyes.
He didn’t even glance at her, scolding instead: “Look at yourself! What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
Teresa’s eyes welled with tears as she stared at him, as if suddenly snapping back to reality.
How could she let him see her in such a humiliating state?
She covered her face and collapsed onto the table.
She couldn’t bear for him to see her looking like this.
Louisa ignored both of them, pulling out a few tissues to wipe the tears and snot from her clothes, occasionally glancing at Julian.
Julian stood to the side with a cold expression, berating Teresa, his words barely containing his fury.
This made Louisa zone out a little.
She realized she’d never actually seen Julian angry before.
The Julian she knew was mostly cool, composed, steady.
Even when he was in a bad mood, he could control his emotions, almost never losing his temper at others.
But Teresa could easily make him lose it.
Didn’t that count as being special, too?
Maybe, as Teresa said, they really had loved each other once.
Louisa didn’t want to get involved in whatever was between them. Her tone flat, she said, “You two talk. I’ll wait outside.”
Her voice was calm. Without another word, she headed for the door.
When Julian turned to look, all he saw was her back.
Louisa didn’t look back, didn’t even hesitate.
After leaving, Louisa settled the bill.
She walked out of the restaurant and stood under a tree, waiting.

Chapter 397
The harsh midday sun beat down on her, filling her with irritation; the against her face was scorchingly hot.
Yet her heart grew colder by the second.
Ten minutes later, Julian and Teresa emerged from the restaurant.
Teresa had clearly washed her face and tidied her hair.
Just moments ago, she’d been crying like a madwoman, eyes red and swollen, but now she’d resumed her haughty demeanor.

She walked up to Louisa, not looking at her, eyes fixed elsewhere, seemingly reluctant as she apologized: “I’m sorry. I lost control just now. I’ll
compensate you for your clothes.”
Without waiting for Louisa’s response, she turned on her heel and headed straight for her own car.
Louisa watched the blue sports car speed away and let out a soft laugh: So Teresa did know when she’d lost control, after all.
Acting so arrogant in public, but beneath it all, obsessed enough over a relationship to go completely insane…
Was it because she was confident Julian still loved her? Confident that they were just fighting now, throwing tantrums, but would eventually
get back together?
Julian walked to Louisa’s side and put his arm around her shoulders. “Let’s go too.”
Louisa nodded. “Okay.”
She said nothing else, asked no questions.
Julian looked down at her, his brow furrowing slightly.
She wasn’t angry. Her tone was as calm as ever, but he could sense keenly that something in her mood had shifted.
Louisa looked up to meet his gaze. “What? If you’re still hungry, we can grab something on the way. You still have that meeting. If we don’t
leave now, we’ll be late.”
She didn’t mention her own feelings at all.
Julian didn’t move, just kept looking at her: “Are you upset?”
Louisa sighed silently.
She wanted to say no.
But in the end, she admitted it. “Yeah. Someone ruined my clothes. I’ll have to change when I get back to the office.”
Her tone was light and breezy.
Julian: “Is it just about the clothes?”
Louisa fell silent.

She’d already made her attitude clear–no crying, no tantrums, no losing her temper. If they could be together, fine. If not, whatever. Why was he still pressing?
She didn’t want to talk anymore. She held out her hand. “Give me the keys, I’ll drive. You can rest on the way back.”
Julian didn’t give them to her. Instead, he walked her to the passenger side, opened the door, and let her in.
Louisa didn’t argue.
Julian got into the driver’s seat and closed the door.
Louisa buckled her seatbelt.
But the car didn’t start.
She turned to look at him and found him staring at her.
What was he doing?
Did all men act like this? When you lost your temper, they got impatient. When you didn’t, they felt like they didn’t matter.
Her tone turned colder. “Mr. Tudor, if we don’t leave now, you’ll miss your meeting.”
Julian said nothing, pulling out his phone and dialing.
Louisa saw the name on the screen: Father.
A sense of foreboding washed over her. She immediately pressed her hand over his, pleading: “Forget it. Let’s just go.”
He couldn’t possibly still be planning to go through with what he’d said before–that every time Teresa caused a scene, he’d demote her again,
right?
Besides, hadn’t Adeline placed Teresa with William precisely because Julian couldn’t touch her there?
If that was the case, Louisa didn’t want Julian to create conflict with his father or his family because of her.
