Chapter 403
Even Teresa, stupid as she was, caught Louisa’s implication.
She was mocking her!
Teresa bit down hard, her voice dripping with venom: “Fine, let’s
shop!”
At the same time, she added another entry to her complaint list.
There was no way this sharp–tongued, vicious woman, Louisa, was
marrying into the Tudor family!
Louisa’s response: I couldn’t care less!
By the time Louisa and Teresa returned to the company, an hour had
already passed.
With the eighty–eight thousand dollars Teresa compensated her,
Louisa bought four exquisite, beautiful brooches.
One for Sadie, one for Flora, one for Rachel, and one for herself.
Best friends should all match, after all.

And she hadn’t spent a cent of her own money.
After all, her dress had been so expensive–how could she possibly
just throw it away?
It would be perfectly wearable after washing.
She was just a bit tired.
When she got back to her office, Louisa sat in her chair for ten
minutes without recovering her energy.
Last night with Julian…
Julian had kept her up making love again and again until she was
completely exhausted.
She’d been planning to rest during lunch today, but instead she’d
burned through even more energy and hadn’t gotten any time to rest.
Meanwhile, Julian had gotten a nice, comfortable nap.
He had a habit of taking afternoon naps, his sacred recharging time
that even his father William didn’t dare interrupt.
1:50 PM.

Chapter 403
Louisa went to the investment department, and was about to head
back to the 36th floor when she received a call from Teddy.
“Louisa, I’ve run into an unexpected situation. I can’t make it back to
the office on time. Could you go wake up Mr. Tudor?”
As he spoke, there was a noisy commotion in the background. He
must be outside somewhere.
Louisa: “Wouldn’t it be more appropriate for Ms. Weber to wake him?”
Teddy: “Can’t do that. Mr. Tudor doesn’t allow other women into his
rest room. Please help me out.”
Louisa: “Alright.”
Did she really have a choice?
Though making an extremely sleepy person go wake up someone
who’d just gotten a full night’s rest was cruel enough.
But thinking about what Teddy had said-“Mr. Tudor doesn’t allow
other women into his rest room“-little pink bubbles of happiness
started fizzing up in Louisa’s heart.
Entering Julian’s office, she knocked perfunctorily before pushing the

door open. “Mr. Tudor…”
Time to wake up.
Before she could finish her sentence, Louisa was stunned by the scene
in the rest room.
Julian and Teresa were standing on opposite sides of the bed.
Julian’s expression was cold and dark, as if his face contained knives
and shards of ice, murderous even.
Teresa looked utterly humiliated and wronged.
Most importantly, Teresa was wearing only a strapless, low–cut bra.
The scent of perfume hanging in the air was familiar…
Louisa recognized it–it was the same perfume she’d worn today.
So Teresa had bought the same fragrance?
On the other side, Julian and Teresa heard the noise at the door and
turned simultaneously.

The moment he spotted Louisa in the doorway, Julian’s expression
shifted. He immediately walked toward her. “Louisa…”
Louisa instinctively stepped back two paces.
Knowing Julian was about to explain, Louisa spoke first: “Teddy
couldn’t make it back, so he asked me to wake you. Looks like Ms.
Hughes also came to help. Since you’re awake, I’ll leave now.”
Without giving Julian a chance to respond, she turned and walked
out.
Sure enough, Julian’s old flame was making her move, and every ridiculous
plot twist had to play out.
Julian didn’t stop her from leaving. Instead, he followed her all the
way to her office.
Louisa felt irritated and didn’t want him trailing her.
When they reached her office door, she didn’t go in, nor did she let Julian enter. She simply turned around and looked at him calmly: “Mr. Tudor, you have a meeting in twenty minutes. Several executives are coming to your office. You should probably have Ms. Hughes get dressed first. Otherwise, if some busybody sees this, they’ll think you
two… It wouldn’t look good.”

Julian watched her maintain that calm demeanor, feeling his chest
tighten with suffocating pressure. He stared at her intently: “Is Ms.
Forbes always this composed?”
Louisa looked down at her toes, hands in her pockets, the picture of
relaxation.
There was even a faint smile on her face: “What else am I supposed to
do if I’m not composed?”
Cry?
Make a scene?
Throw a tantrum?
That wasn’t Louisa’s style.
Besides, it wouldn’t solve anything.
More importantly, this was Julian’s private matter…
Her mind was a jumbled mess when suddenly Julian pulled her into
his embrace.
He buried his face in the crook of her neck, breathing in her scent

deeply. “She barged in suddenly. I wasn’t prepared… This is my fault.
