Chapter 410
Louisa actually slept really well–from nine at night straight through
to seven the next morning. A full, deep sleep.
The moment she stepped out of her bedroom, she saw that bright,
elegant figure in the kitchen again.
Julian was making her breakfast.
The scene sent a warm current flowing through her heart.
Probably because he was here. She, who usually slept so lightly, had
somehow managed to sleep for ten hours straight without waking up
once.
She quickly freshened up and walked into the dining room.
Julian had already finished making breakfast and set it on the table,
He sat down beside her, looking at her. “Louisa, do you like little pigs?
“Yeah.”

Why was he suddenly bringing up this?
Julian chuckled. “No wonder you love sleeping so much.”
Louisa fell silent.
Was he making fun of her?
Or was he protesting because she hadn’t satisfied his animal urges
last night?
She turned to look at him with an equally questioning expression.
“I’m not like Mr. Tudor. You get to take naps–I don’t have nap time.
But here’s some honest advice: sleep more at night, skip the
afternoon naps. Otherwise, you might accidentally lose your virtue.
Pretty dangerous.”
Julian, who had nearly lost said virtue not long ago, fell silent.
But the next second, he leaned closer to Louisa, smiling. “How rare-
our Ms. Forbes actually cares about me. How about we rest together
at noon? You can protect me, okay? I’m so vulnerable all by myself.
What if I lose my virtue? My girlfriend might not want me anymore.”
Louisa calmly sipped her milk and gave him a sweet smile. “Doesn’t
Mr. Tudor think two people sleeping together is even more

dangerous?”
With that, she quickly kissed his lips and darted away.
Julian laughed, reaching out to catch her.
She grabbed her sandwich and ran.
But the living room was only so big–how could she possibly outrun
the long–legged Julian?
Before long, she was caught in his arms.
In the sunlight streaming through the floor–to–ceiling windows, he
wrapped his arms around her waist, and they kissed passionately.
News of Teresa’s resignation quickly spread throughout the entire
company.
“Teresa’s combat ability was seriously lacking, wasn’t it? Two days
and she’s already out?”
“I bet on her to win. Can’t believe she lost.”
“I’m just saying, Ms. Forbes‘ combat power is insane, right? Last time she destroyed Ms. Foster in seconds at Virella Highlands, now she’s

taken down Mr. Tudor’s old flame. Even having the chairman’s wife
backing you doesn’t help–how terrifying is that combat power?”
“I think next time someone shows up, we should just bet on Ms.
Forbes to win.”
“There’s no point in betting anymore. What I think we should bet on
now is whether Ms. Forbes will actually marry into wealth.”
Every break–time conversation revolved around topics centered on
Louisa.
When Louisa arrived at the company, she overheard some of it and
finally believed Teresa had truly left.
The consequences of disturbing Julian’s nap time–truly terrifying.
Still, Louisa felt inexplicably happy.
Teddy felt pretty good, too. They were supposed to travel on business
the day after tomorrow, and he’d already prepared himself to face a
massively awkward horror show. He’d even bought emergency
medication. Then joy fell from the heavens–he wouldn’t need it after
all.
Around three in the afternoon, Louisa finished all her work and

prepared to leave early.
Tonight she’d made plans with Rachel, Sadie, and Flora to attend a
ball.
She needed to go home, shower, and change into an evening gown.
Her work hours were fairly flexible anyway–being late or leaving
early wasn’t an issue. She didn’t even need to clock in or out, just
deliver results.
Unfortunately, the elevator by her door was under maintenance, so
she had to take another public elevator.
Passing by Julian’s office, she happened to run into him coming out.
Seeing her with her bag, Julian raised an eyebrow. “Is Ms. Forbes
leaving early?”
She had that caught–red–handed–by–the–boss feeling about leaving
work early,
Louisa instinctively replied, “I finished my work.”
Julian said nothing, just looked at her.

Sensing his slight displeasure, Louisa knew it wasn’t about her
leaving early.
She volunteered the information. “Rachel asked me ages ago. She
invited me, Sadie, and Flora to attend a ball together, so I need to go
home and change into an evening gown.”
“Whose ball is it?”
Louisa paused.
Julian said irritably, “You don’t even know whose ball you’re
attending, and you’re just going?”
“No, it’s just… Rachel has the invitation, so I’m not entirely sure. I think the last name was Boleyn. Right, it’s hosted by Mrs. Boleyn.”
Julian thought for a moment, then nodded. “Fine. I’ll have Noah drive
you.”
She had her own circle and friends. As long as there was no danger,
he wouldn’t stop her.
Louisa wasn’t one to be difficult, so she immediately agreed. “Okay.”
“Next time something like this comes up, remember to tell me.” Julian
