At the same time, Hazel was also watching Louisa.
Though she didn’t like Louisa, at this moment, she had no appetite to
watch her be publicly mocked.
Perhaps because she herself had just been a victim of the tarot reader,
she now found herself hoping Louisa would summon her usual
fighting spirit and take on this terrifying tarot reader.
Louisa stood calmly–unhurried, unafraid–looking steadily at the
tarot reader. “You say I’m a femme fatale who destroys men. I’d like to
ask you, what exactly defines a ‘femme fatale who destroys men‘?
Does being attractive automatically make a woman a femme fatale?”
She even smiled at the tarot reader, her tone light. “Seems like the
tarot reader has severe internalized misogyny–particularly despising
women prettier than herself?”
At these words, the tarot reader’s eyes turned dark and cold.
Louisa continued unhurriedly, “And you say I’m skilled at disguise?
Tell me, what have I disguised? Did I cross–dress as a man? Or play
mystical tricks?”

That last phrase was barely short of saying outright: You, wearing a
mask and playing with tarot cards, you accuse me of being skilled at
disguise? Am I as good at it as you?
The crowd collectively gasped. Wasn’t Louisa being a bit too brazen?
The tarot reader’s expression grew even uglier.
Louisa pressed on, “As for saying I deceived two men–tell me, what
did I deceive them of? Their money? Their lives?”
Her forthright words stunned everyone around.
Under the tarot reader’s powerful presence, Louisa–who appeared to
have no offensive capability whatsoever–was somehow completely
dominating?
Louisa flashed an even brighter smile at the tarot reader. “And about
deceiving this naive lady–I merely exchanged a few words with her.
Why don’t you elaborate on exactly what I deceived this lady about?”
At this point, Louisa’s expression suddenly turned cold. “Madam,
don’t make these vague, ambiguous accusations. Don’t you know such
cheap tricks make you look low–class? Mrs. Boleyn holds you up as
some kind of deity, saying how remarkable you are–why don’t you
show some real skill instead of letting her be humiliated in front of

everyone? After all…”
Louisa turned her head, scanning the surroundings before switching
back to a breezy tone. “After all, Mrs. Boleyn invited all of Silverlight
City’s elite ladies and young misses here today, delivering them to
you as playthings for your game, for your entertainment.”
That final statement plunged the entire hall into silence.
Those who’d been laughing at the spectacle could no longer laugh.
Right–from one’s own perspective, others were the monkeys.
But from another angle, weren’t they themselves the monkeys?
Xanthe immediately understood that Louisa was sowing discord.
She angrily rebuked, “Don’t spout such nonsense! What do you mean,
treating everyone as playthings? This is just a game. Just because you
can’t handle it doesn’t mean you should make wild accusations.”
Louisa smiled ambiguously. “A game? Scaring that lady so badly she
collapsed to the floor–that’s a game? Slandering me without
evidence–that’s a game? Mrs. Boleyn, are we your guests or not?”
“The tarot reader merely spoke the truth… Xanthe retosted

unwillingly, though her momentum had clearly weakened.
Louisa followed up and asked, “I don’t care if she’s a tarot reader or a
charlatan. You answer me first–are we your invited guests today or
not?”
Xanthe could only answer, “Yes, but this is just a game.”
Louisa sneered coldly. “Fine, let’s say it’s a game. Well, I’ve certainly
witnessed Mrs. Boleyn’s breathtaking hospitality. You all continue–I
won’t be participating. Farewell!”
With those final words, Louisa’s expression had turned completely
cold, her presence commanding. She turned to leave.
Internally, she was urging her legs: Walk faster! Faster!
Sadie reacted quickest, grabbing Rachel and Flora and following
Louisa’s lead.
Rachel and Flora were still a bit confused. What was happening? They
were just leaving after one outburst?
Seeing Louisa leave, Hazel immediately shook off the people
supporting her and followed closely behind.

Adeline also snapped to attention, dragging her unsteady steps to
catch up. “Miss, wait for me!”
Louisa, ahead felt helpless. Could these two please stop following
her?
After several people walked out in succession, other ladies in the hall
whom Louisa had swayed also began indignantly heading for the exit.
No matter how Xanthe tried to explain, she couldn’t stop them.
Though the tarot reader’s expression was ugly, she remained composed throughout, her resentful eyes fixed intently on Louisa’s
departing direction.
Louisa’s mouth was truly formidable. Just wait–she would definitely
tear that mouth apart.
By now, Louisa and her group had reached the ballroom entrance.
Louisa reached for the door handle, only to discover it was locked.
No wonder the tarot reader had remained so calm earlier, with no
intention of stopping them from leaving.
But the group following behind Louisa was far from calm.

Especially Adeline, who rarely argued with anyone–her heart was
now strung taut to its limits.
She glared at Xanthe. “Mrs. Boleyn, what exactly do you mean by this?
Locking us in here–are you planning to kidnap all of us?”
Sadie immediately pulled out her phone and waved it. “Phone signals
are all blocked. Looks like we’re being collectively kidnapped today.”
