These ladies and young misses, normally so arrogant and looking
down on everyone, had all become delicate flowers without an ounce
of fighting spirit when it really mattered.
Xanthe kept apologizing to everyone, insisting she had no idea why
the door was locked, while instructing servants to open it.
The tarot reader slowly descended from upstairs. Watching the
chaotic scene below, she maintained a cold expression throughout,
showing no reaction whatsoever.
Someone spotted her and pointed, cursing, “It’s that crow witch! She’s
behind this! Everyone grab her!”
But no one responded.
The tarot reader merely cast a cold glance downward–a look as if viewing corpses–instantly silencing the shouting woman.
Around the ballroom were twelve side doors in total.
Xanthe had them all opened, apologizing while arranging for people
to escort guests out through different exits.

Louisa glanced back at Hazel, and that masked, important figure who
insisted on following her.
The three of them were Lorelei’s primary targets. Staying together
now–wasn’t that letting Lorelei catch them all in one net?
They definitely wouldn’t be able to leave this way.
Louisa didn’t want to drag her other friends down. She said to Rachel,
“Rachel, you take them and leave first.”
“No way!” Flora and Sadie refused without hesitation.
Flora stated, “If we leave, we leave together!”
Sadie agreed, “Exactly! We have to stick together!”
Rachel concurred, “I brought you all to this party. Although… I’m
pretty scared of dying, I’m also scared of you guys dying and then
crying pitifully in my dreams.”
Louisa fell silent.
She wasn’t even dead yet.
Hazel and Adeline also looked at Louisa pitifully, their expressions

somewhat helpless.
Louisa sighed. How did she suddenly acquire two extra burdens?
Was it because her fierce confrontation with the tarot reader earlier
made them think she was really capable?
Looked like she couldn’t shake them off.
Well then, if they had to die, they’d die together. At least they
wouldn’t be lonely.
Louisa said helplessly, “Together then.”
Flora and Sadie simultaneously looked at Louisa. “Your instincts are
usually pretty accurate. You decide–which door should we take? We’ll
follow you.”
Louisa sighed. “I’m afraid wherever we go, there’ll be an ambush
waiting.”
Rachel said, “Right, very likely no matter which door we choose, it’s
death.”
Sadie and Flora said to Louisa in unison, “You decide! Whatever the
danger, we’ll fight it!”

Hazel and Adeline, completely at a loss, both nodded.
Seeing all these expectant eyes on her, Louisa made a decisive call.
“Their targets are the two ladies and me. They probably won’t go after
the others. Let’s pick a door with lots of people. In the chaos and
crowds, maybe we’ll have a chance to escape.”
“Let’s go!”
Just as the group decided, Xanthe started walking toward them.
Louisa immediately said, “Run!”
She lifted her dress and ran toward the crowded Side Door 3.
Rachel and the other two also immediately lifted their dresses and
followed her.
Adeline and Hazel had no time to think and ran after them.
Xanthe didn’t understand why they ran at the sight of her and called
after them, “Don’t run! Wait for me!”
But her shouting only made Louisa run faster.
No way–at a time like this, if they didn’t run, were they supposed to

wait to be caught?
Louisa quickly caught up with the ladies exiting through this door.
This group of ladies didn’t sense any danger yet. They were walking
leisurely, chatting and laughing as they went.
Seeing Louisa running to catch up, someone even commented, “Mrs.
Boleyn already explained–they blocked the signal because of the
fortune–telling game. As for why the door was locked, Mrs. Boleyn
doesn’t know either, but being able to exit through the side doors is
the same. She has no reason to harm us. Aren’t you all overreacting?”
Louisa and her group fell silent.
They actually believed that nonsense?
But Louisa couldn’t be bothered to argue with them.
Each door led to an independent corridor that would eventually
merge at the club’s main entrance and exit.
In other words, the twelve corridors would ultimately converge into
one path.
But even so, as long as they remained inside the club, there was

always the possibility of being ambushed.
She had to find a way to escape the club to get a signal and call Noah
for rescue.
But there were six people ahead of them.
Adding Louisa’s group of six, twelve people walked through this
corridor.
The six ahead chatted and laughed leisurely.
Louisa’s group just wanted to escape with their lives, desperately
anxious.
Just as Louisa was about to overtake them and hurry ahead, footsteps
suddenly sounded from behind.
At the same time, footsteps also came from ahead.
Louisa’s heart tightened. Were they trying to trap them between a
rock and a hard place, completely blocking their escape?
Well, they were already caught between pursuers ahead and no
retreat behind. They could only take a gamble.

Louisa noticed private rooms along one side of the corridor.
As the six people ahead passed, Louisa reached out and tried a door…
It actually opened.
Louisa lowered her voice. “Friends, quick, get in here.”
