These past few days, when Teddy cleaned Julian’s room, there were always bottles of wine lying around.
Julian wasn’t the type to smoke or drink–honestly, nothing seemed to hook him. His self–control was terrifyingly strong
But even someone seemingly untouchable like him couldn’t avoid falling back to earth.
Teddy had initially thought, let him drink a little. After all, the guy just got his heart broken.
But seeing Louisa’s reaction now, was she really just playing around with Julian?
回
Teddy was utterly confused.
The two of them headed downstairs, each lost in their own thoughts.
Noah, meanwhile, was completely carefree, sitting in the garden’s rocking chair, munching an apple and gazing at the sky with a leisurely air.
Seeing them approach, he immediately stood up with a grin. “Are we leaving?”
Teddy said, “You’re coming too?”
Noah replied, “Of course. Wherever Ms. Forbes goes, I go.”
That was literally his job.
Teddy was speechless. “Fine, let’s go then.”
The three of them got in the car together.
Teddy gave Noah the address for the banquet.
They set off.
Not long after, Julian left too.
The welcome banquet was being held at a business club owned by the Tudor Group.
Beautiful environment.
Great atmosphere.
The chef was Michelin starred.
The event was lively and bustling
Yet Louisa couldn’t muster any enthusiasm.
After exchanging a few words with people here and there, she took a glass of red wine and found herself a quiet corner.

Noah quickly replied: [Got it!]
Only then did Julian put down his phone.
By now, his conversation was wrapping up anyway.
Across from him sat a foreign man in his forties named Vaughn.
This was the person Briar and Orion had mentioned–the one connecting Julian to the business association.
Vaughn set down his teacup with a smile. “Mr. Tudor, your understanding of the chamber is more extensive than I expected.”
Julian said, “Precisely because I’ve done my research that I’m rather interested.”
Vaughn asked, “But there’s one thing I don’t understand. With your resources, you should have multiple ways to join the chamber. Why take this roundabout route through me? With your status, the chamber would welcome you enthusiastically.”
Julian smiled slightly. “Because Gravenford is the chamber’s headquarters. And besides, I prefer to maintain an air of mystery.”
Vaughn didn’t overthink it. If Julian said so, he believed him.
He nodded. ‘I understand. There happens to be an exchange meeting in two days, specifically for potential new members. It’ll last two days. Someone will contact you then.”
Julian expressed his gratitude. “Wonderful, thank you.”
The discussion concluded.
Meanwhile, the welcome banquet continued in full swing.
On Louisa’s end, with no one bothering her, she accidentally drank too much. Her stomach sent waves of burning, stabbing pain. Very uncomfortable.
She leaned back into her chair, trying to ease the discomfort.
Just then, excited screams erupted from inside the restaurant.
What was going on?
Louisa struggled to turn her head, and through a blur of hazy light, she saw a familiar tall figure walking toward her…
Was she hallucinating? Why did this person look so much like Julian?
She thought bazily…
Julian walked right up to her.
He draped his suit jacket over her shoulders, pulling her up from the chair and into his embrace. Let’s go. We’re going home.”
“No, no, no, we can’t leave yet.” She patted his chest, her hand waving wildly before finally pointing at the salmon on the table. Not finished.

Chapter 442
Julian glanced at the salmon with just two bites taken out of it. Most of it still sat on the plate.
He asked patiently, “Want it wrapped up?”
‘No wrapping. Louisa shook her head. ‘Save it for Julian.‘
She reached out, grabbing at the air above the plate, then slapped the handful of nothing onto Julian’s mouth. ‘Eat! Eat it! Don’t you love meat the most?
Julian fell silent.
Everyone in the banquet hall was stunned–so shocked that wine spilled from their glasses… Did Louisa just slap Julian across the face?
Where did she get that kind of nerve?
Many people held their breath for her, but then they saw Julian wasn’t angry at all.
He looked at her with helpless indulgence, his eyes brimming with affection. “Could you be a little gentler when you’re feeding me?”
