Chapter 469
Yvaine fell silent again.
Initially, Louisa had been affected by the incense, her emotions manipulated, drawn into that terrifying atmosphere. It even made this atheist start believing
ghosts might exist.
But standing downstairs, looking at the ground without a trace of blood, she’d snapped awake instantly.
The matter wasn’t complicated at all. Everything was just the other side’s smoke and mirrors.
Everything Yvaine did was simply to make herself “die” before witnesses and naturally become a ‘ghost.”
First, it allowed her to appear subsequently as Lilith.
Second, it created panic.
Third, she could kill anyone she wanted.
After all, who would suspect a dead person of murder?
As for her ghostly knocking at their door and falling from the building–it was all pre–designed.
Hidden vacuum cameras in the room, the curtain serving as a trigger.
So the instant they opened the curtain, someone fell from the building…
Quite an elaborate design.
Thinking back, after Lilith appeared, Yvaine never showed up again.
As for why she specifically chose Louisa to frighten?
Louisa didn’t know. Maybe she just disliked her.
Yvaine trembled. “Ms. Forbes, I’m sorry. I apologize to you. But please believe me–I truly didn’t want to kill you. I just wanted someone to knock you
unconscious…”
As she spoke, she looked at Julian. “Mr. Tudor, please believe me. I have no grievance with you. Why would I harm you? Besides, after you join the Guild, we’ll see each other often. I had no reason to do this. Please believe me–let’s not damage our relationship… And besides, you’ve already cut my throat with
a knife. Can’t we call it even?”
She pleaded.
Julian merely raised an eyebrow. “Call it even? You scared my girlfriend. Now you’ve just had your skin broken a little and you want to call it even? Let me
tell you–we’re not even close to even!*
Yvaine fell silent.
This double–standard demon.

Chapter 469
Scare his girlfriend once and she had to pay with her life?
She said desperately. Then what do you want?‘
Julian pretended to muse, ‘Jumping from such a tall building–1d say Ms. Harrison must really enjoy bungee jumping. There’s a perfect bridge nearby. Go take a couple of leaps, and we’ll call it even.”
Yvaine fell silent.
Fine.
She steeled herself and gave in. “Okay, I agree. But can I go later?
Stalling for time–any delay gave her a chance to figure out how to deal with them.
“Deal.” Julian pocketed the knife with ease and politely reminded her, “Now, Lilith, you should go downstairs and announce the results.”
Yvaine finally let out a breath of relief, pressing her hand against her bleeding neck. A murderous glint flashed in her eyes.
Then Julian’s mild voice reached her ears again. “Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention. Given your terrible performance tonight, I’ve already sent everything to the Chamber of Commerce headquarters–including the agreement we just made.”
As he spoke, he pointed to a small red light blinking on the sofa.
