Chapter 512
It was nine o’clock at night.
A Rolls–Royce pulled up at the entrance of an abandoned, half–finished building in the suburbs.
Though the car bore no flashy chrome accents or even a logo, anyone–even someone who knew nothing about cars–could tell it was worth a
fortune.
It sat quietly in this desolate, rundown place. Passersby from the surrounding slums couldn’t help but steal glances at it.
Not that they could see anything. The windows were tinted so dark they reflected nothing but inky blackness.
Inside the car, Noah sat in the driver’s seat.
Teddy occupied the passenger seat.
Julian sat in the back.
A heavy, suffocating silence filled the cabin. The only sound was Julian’s fingers tapping slowly, rhythmically, on the center console behind
him.
That sound–it made your heart race.
Well, everyone’s heart except Noah’s.
He stared lazily out at the rearview mirror until a slovenly figure appeared in the reflection.
“Mr. Tudor, he’s here.”
The moment the words left his mouth, Noah opened the door and jumped out.
Behind the car, Hawk stumbled forward, a beer bottle dangling from his hand.
Noah stood tall and solid on the narrow sidewalk, blocking the way.
Hawk had already downed more than a few drinks and didn’t notice Noah at first.
Not until he nearly walked straight into him. Hawk opened his mouth to curse, then looked up and saw Noah’s expressionless face.
“You again?”
Hawk recognized him. He was about to ask what the hell he wanted when he turned his head and spotted that impossibly luxurious car.
Hawk froze for a moment, then broke into a sleazy grin. He looked back at Noah. “Is my precious little sister sitting in there? What’s this, you here to deliver my money?”

Seat ict–out a cold laugh: “You want money? Sure. You can have as much as you want. I just don’t think you’ll live long enough to spend it.
As his words fell, the rear window of the car slowly rolled down.
Hawk didn’t quite catch the meaning of Noah’s remark at first. Then he turned his head and locked eyes with Julian’s cold, penetrating gaze.
A chill shot down Hawk’s spine.
Julian’s expression remained blank. “I heard you tried to threaten Louisa, and when that didn’t work, you went to my parents house to extort
them?”
His cold stare, low voice, and naturally commanding presence completely short–circuited Hawk’s brain.
Add to that the alcohol clouding his judgment, and Hawk didn’t immediately recognize who Julian was. He stupidly blurted out, “Who the hell
are you?”
“I’m Louisa’s boyfriend.” Julian didn’t hide his relationship with her.
Hawk, who’d been dazed and confused, suddenly sobered up.

He took in Julian’s strikingly handsome face, his refined air, and that outrageously expensive car.
Hawk’s eyes lit up with excitement, gleaming with greed. “Oh, so you’re my brother–in–law! This is-
“Who are you calling brother–in–law? You think you’re worthy?” Noah’s fist slammed into his face.
Hawk nearly toppled into the grass. His thug instincts kicked in, and he reflexively lunged forward to fight back.
Noah puffed out his chest and stared down at him.
Hawk immediately backed down, muttering under his breath, “You guys gonna be reasonable or not? Why are you hitting people without even talking first?
He didn’t dare challenge Noah head–on.
But a rich guy like this showing up at his doorstep? Obviously, they were here to negotiate.
Hawk wasn’t about to let this golden opportunity slip away. Summoning his courage, he looked toward Julian. “If you’ve got something to say, just say it. You came looking for me because you want to know about my sister’s past, right? Of course I can tell you. But…”
He trailed off, making a gesture. The universal sign for money.
Julian said, “One piece of information, and you sell it to my parents, then sell it to me again. Pretty easy money, huh?”
His tone was so devoid of emotion it was impossible to tell what he meant.
Hawk was wary of his aura, but for the sake of money, he had to take the gamble.

Chapter 512
He forced himself to meet Julian’s gaze. “So what if I did? Don’t you want to know about my sister’s past?”
Julian gave a slight nod. I do want to know…
Hawk’s heart leapt with joy.
His happiness lasted all of one second before Julian’s next words hit him like a bucket of ice water. “I want to know, so I’ll wait for her to tell me herself. Not hear it from your mouth. Hawk, out of respect for your father, I’m sparing your life. But if you show up in front of Louisa again,
no one will be able to save you. Are we clear?”
His icy, bone–chilling gaze bore into Hawk from inside the car.
Hawk’s legs went weak. He nearly collapsed on the spot.
Noah kicked him square in the chest, sending him sprawling to the ground. “My boss asked you a question. Are you deaf? Did you hear him or
not?”
Hawk finally snapped back to reality and nodded frantically. “I heard! I heard you!”
Damn it. He didn’t know how that guy trained, but he was pretty sure he’d just been kicked into being half–crippled.
Noah ignored him and got back in the car.
Julian’s window rolled up.
“Let’s go.”
At his command, the car sped away from that godforsaken place.
