Chapter 525
Of course William had noticed.
From the corner of his eye, he caught his wife’s grim expression.
He immediately set down the tablet and scooted closer to her. “Honey, what’s wrong? Who upset you?”

Adeline glared at him silently.
William wrapped an arm around her, coaxing, “Don’t be angry, don’t be angry. I booked a trip to Pearlcrest Island. We’ll go in a few days, okay?”
Before Adeline could respond, William’s phone rang.
Adeline snorted. “If you want to go on a trip with me, turn off your phone first.”
“Okay, okay, let me just take this call.” William flashed her an appeasing smile and answered the phone right in front of her.
It was Percy.
William didn’t give him a chance to speak. “I’m at home. If it’s important, come here to discuss it.”
Twenty minutes later, Percy arrived.
Seeing both William and Adeline present, along with two of the Tudor children, Percy hesitated, unsure of William’s intentions.
William gestured toward a seat. “Mr. Adams, please sit.”
Percy sat on the sofa.
William had the butler bring tea and asked, “What did you need?”
Percy had just reached for his teacup when he quickly set it down again. Chairman, it’s like this-the investment Department heard Ms. Forbes resigned, and they’re all anxious. They keep coming to me, asking if we can bring Ms. Forbes back. Chairman, is it possible to have
Ms. Forbes return?”
By the end, Percy was looking at William hopefully.
“Well…” William feigned difficulty, trailing off as he picked up his teacup.
Adeline asked, “Why does it have to be Louisa? Can’t they work normally without her?

Percy said, “It’s not that they can’t work, but when Ms. Forbes was there, everyone felt secure. No matter what problems they faced, Ms. Forbes could solve them. Now that Ms. Forbes is gone, everyone’s performance has started declining.”
Adeline looked curious. “How is that possible? What does Louisa do on a daily basis?”
Percy smiled. “I don’t really know what Ms. Forbes does, but I’ve heard the team leaders say she’s a business prodigy.”
Adeline fell silent.
Amelia and Justin, quietly watching from the sidelines, looked equally surprised.
Percy realized now that the decision about Louisa’s return didn’t rest with the Chairman-it rested with the Chairman’s wife.
He chose his words carefully, addressing Adeline. “Madam, Ms. Forbes is truly a rare talent. If she leaves, it’s genuinely the Tudor Group’s loss. Could we ask her to return?”
Adeline’s expression soured. “Since you all say she’s so capable, I imagine the Tudor Group can’t hold onto someone like her.”
“But-” Percy tried to continue.
Adeline cut him off. “Enough. We’ve heard what you had to say. If there’s nothing else, you can go.”
Percy hesitated, glancing at William.
William gave him a slight nod.
Percy had no choice but to leave.
The living room was left with just the Tudor couple and their two children.
Seeing Adeline’s poor mood, no one spoke.
Adeline suddenly turned to her husband.
William responded immediately. “Honey, what is it?”
Their children couldn’t bear to watch their father’s henpecked behavior.
After a long pause, Adeline asked, “Is this Louisa really that capable?”
William nodded. “More than you can imagine.”
Adeline said nothing more.

Chapter 525
Even if Louisa didn’t come back, she wouldn’t regret the decision she’d made.
But the real issue now was that when Louisa left, she’d taken Adeline’s precious son with her.
Before, with Julian running the company, William could come and go as he pleased, spending most of his time at home with her.
Now that their son was gone, William had to hold down the fort at the company, leaving her bored and alone at home.
She did regret it a little. She wanted her son back.
After a long silence, she asked her husband, “If she’s so capable, why doesn’t she start her own business? She must have plenty of options, right? She probably wouldn’t want to come back to the Tudor Group anyway, would she?”
William smiled at her. “Honey, are you saying you want her back or not?”
Adeline replied, “Whether she comes back-is that something I can control?”
The implication was clear: whether Louisa was willing to return to the Tudor Group, she wouldn’t interfere anymore.
But asking her to personally beg Louisa to come back? Impossible.
William understood his wife’s meaning and let out a long breath.
Getting this result was already good enough.
As for whether Louisa would actually return to the Tudor Group–that was Julian’s problem now.
The Northwest.
Though Julian hadn’t interfered with the branch office projects, his presence kept the veteran employees from slacking off. They even actively cooperated with Louisa’s work.
Nearly a month in, the ecological conservation zone was taking shape.
Louisa stood on the loft balcony, gazing at the distant mountains. The newly planted saplings stood scattered across the slopes.
The road below wasn’t fully paved yet.
