After the Affair Falling into a Billionaire's Arms novel Chapter 524

That night, they made up for lost time, making love until dawn.

Louise couldn’t hold out any longer and fell asleep.

But the stickiness on her skin kept her restless.

Julian fetched a clean, damp cloth and wiped her down.

Only then did Louisa sleep soundly for a few hours.

From that night on, Louisa decided to let it all go. Who cared what the Tudor family thought? They’d be together while they could. She didn’t want to think about anything else,

Life in the mountains was simple, but it became the most carefree time she’d ever known.

Julian, as usual, skipped inspecting the branch office. He spent nearly every day at the loft, ignoring Tudor Group headquarters entirely.

He never once mentioned returning to Silverlight City.

Though Louisa had resolved not to worry about his other affairs, he’d been in the Northwest for over half a month now, neglecting

everything. She couldn’t help but wonder.

One day, Marlee called,

Julian sat on the sofa, reading,

Louisa had been beside him, working on her laptop.

Seeing Marlee’s call, she didn’t answer right away.

Marlee was an Investment Department employee-one of her subordinates.

Julian was the Tudor Group’s CEO.

Whatever Marlee needed to say would be company business. No need to avoid Julian.

With that thought, Louisa answered. Mariee, what is it?

Marley’s voice was cautious. Ms. Forbes, I heard

you left the Tudor Group. Is that true?”

Louise hesitated, then told the truth. “Yes, it is.

Chapter 524

With the Northwest project finished, her last task at the Tudor Group was officially over.

After she spoke, Marlee went silent.

Then came hushed voices, as if they were discussing something.

The voices were too low for Louisa to make out.

Louisa called out twice. “Marlee? Marlee?”

No response.

Louisa frowned, puzzled.

Julian glanced at her. “What’s wrong?”

Louisa briefly explained the situation.

Julian held out his hand. “Give me the phone.”

Louisa handed it over.

Julian listened to the quiet “scheming” on the other end without interrupting.

Before long, Marlee’s voice came through again. “Ms. Forbes, you’ve been gone so long, everyone’s figured out you resigned. Our team leaders have been going to Mr. Adams every day, hoping he’ll convince you to come back, but nothing’s worked. So we decided I should call you. All twelve team leaders are here right now. I’m speaking for myself and the other eleven-we sincerely want you to come back.

Will you?”

That last question was tentative.

Louisa hadn’t expected them to plead with Percy on her behalf.

She was about to reassure them when Julian spoke.

He didn’t identify himself, simply saying, “My girlfriend already resigned. She’s not coming back. Stop calling and bothering her.”

He hung up.

Louisa stared, dumbfounded. “Julian, what are you saying?”

Julian shrugged. “The truth.”

Louisa fell silent.

Chapter 524

It was the truth, but still…

She asked, “Do you already have a replacement for the Investment Director position?”

“No.”

“No?” Louisa was startled. “If you haven’t found a replacement yet, saying something like that will cause panic.”

Julian saw her agitation and smiled faintly.

He tossed the phone aside and pulled her onto his lap. “Let them panic. Whoever caused the mess can clean it up. We’re done.”

“We?” Louisa caught the loaded word, staring at him in disbelief.

He couldn’t mean what she thought he meant.

Julian kissed her lips lightly. “That’s right. Exactly what you’re thinking. I resigned too.”

Louisa was completely stunned.

Julian didn’t rush to explain. He held her close, kissing her softly, repeatedly.

Louisa’s heart raced, her breath uneven. She pushed him away, covering his lips with her hand. “You’re serious?”

Her bright eyes were full of disbelief.

Now that she thought about it, everything made sense-his indifference to the branch office, his total neglect of headquarters…

But if he was resigning, it shouldn’t have been after arriving in the Northwest. He must have decided before he came.

And now, after more than half a month here, he still hadn’t told her…

He really could keep a secret.

Julian watched the emotions play across her face and chuckled softly.

He pulled her hand from his lips, clasping her fingers, kissing the back of her hand. His tone was casual. “Now I’m unemployed. You’ll

have to support me.”

Louisa said nothing.

*Not willing?”
