Chapter 527

As he spoke, he spread his arms wide and lunged toward Julian, like a child who’d been left behind for years finally reunited with his father.

Julian raised a hand, blocking him.

Noah pivoted and threw his arms around Teddy instead. “Teddy, did you miss me?”

“Sure, sure, sure.” Teddy didn’t even glance up, still focused on his food.

Julian, as CEO of the Tudor Group, was even busier than George.

If he returned to Silverlight City now, he’d definitely have to go back to the Tudor Group.

She’d never imagined he’d set everything aside just to travel with her.

In this moment, she felt something stirring inside her-something she couldn’t put into words.

Before his thoughtfulness, all language felt inadequate.

She didn’t know what to say. She lowered her head and ate.

She needed energy for the trip ahead.

Julian smiled indulgently. “Eat slowly. Don’t overdo it.”

Back at the Tudor residence, they’d learned that Julian was taking Louisa on a trip.

เร

Adeline paced furiously in the living room. “I thought once the Northwest project was done, he’d come home. But now he’s going on a trip? A road trip? I’ve never even been on a road trip.”

Amelia twisted the knife from the sidelines. “Mom, are you upset that Julian isn’t coming home, or that he’s not taking you on the trip?”

Alicia, a career woman herself, understood Julian best. “Mom, Julian’s worked hard for so many years. Let him have some fun. He can’t dedicate his whole life to the company without ever enjoying himself, can he? The Tudor family isn’t short on money. There’s no reason to work him to death, right?”

Justin added, “Julian really knows how to let go, doesn’t he? A business empire means less to him than his girlfriend. Guess he really likes

her.”

Adeline shot him a glare. “Do you have something to say?”

“Nope, I’m done.” Justin grinned sweetly, propped his chin on his hand, swung his legs, and settled in to watch the show.

William helped Adeline sit on the sofa. “Honey, why are you so upset? If our son wants to travel, let him. We can travel too. I booked Pearlcrest Island-we’re supposed to leave tomorrow. I’ll go with you. You don’t need our son along, do you?”

Adeline glared at him. “You’ll come with me? Do you even have time?”

Ever since Julian left, William had been coming home late every night. He had no time at all.

Alicia chimed in, “Dad, just a reminder you have an important meeting tomorrow. Representatives from all the major branch offices will be there. You’ll be tied up at the company all day. Probably no time for a trip.”

“Oh right, how did I forget about that?” William smacked his forehead as if just remembering.

Adeline pinched his arm in frustration. “So the trip’s canceled?”

William smiled helplessly. “Sorry, honey. I really did forget.”

Alicia smirked inwardly. Sure you did.’

A large-scale meeting with branch office heads-second only to the annual conference-had to be scheduled a month in advance.

The trip had been booked two weeks ago.

She didn’t believe for a second her father didn’t know. This was deliberate.

William continued soothing his wife. “Looks like I really can’t go. Can’t be helped-with Julian gone, everything falls on me. How about this: Amelia’s free anyway. Let her go with you. Justin can go too-just one extra plane ticket.”

“But won’t that trip take a while?” Amelia said, linking arms with Adeline and smiling. “Mom, are you still looking for your ‘girl in the green dress’?”

Adeline’s breathing grew labored with anger. “Yes. Keep looking.”

“What about the trip…?”

“Forget it.”

She had to find that girl in the green dress.

She had to show her son that Louisa wasn’t the only good woman in the world.

The rest of the Tudor family exchanged helpless glances.

After lunch, Julian and Louisa set off.

They traveled at a leisurely pace.

Noah drove. Teddy rode shotgun.
